I am ripping this off the Shaq thread that was made earlier.
My thinking is with Wilt's elite defence and rebounding to go along with his great playmaking ability compared to Shaq and his commitment to staying in shape.
Just how much better would he have to be as a foul shooter for you to rank him as the Goat in your list?
60%?
65%?
70%
75%
80%
85%
Keeping in mind of course that this likely greatly impacts his individual metrics and things such as his team's offensive ratings.
His actual career ft% was 51% for reference in the regular season and 46% in the postseason.
With 65% from the line for his career.
Wilt now ends his career with over 33000 points and is number one in PPG all-time for a career.
In the playoffs he now adds a extra 1300 points to his career total and his average jumps up from 22 PPG to 24 PPG.
with 75%% from the line for his career.
Wilt would have averaged 33 ppg for his career instead of 30.1 and scored over 33500 points for his career.
With 85% from the line for his career.
Wilt now ends his career with over 35000 points in just 13 full seasons and is number one in PPG all-time for a career with 34PPG.
His 50PPG season now becomes 55PPG
He now has even more 60 and 70 point games for his career.
In the playoffs he now adds a extra 2000 points to his career total and his average jumps up from 22 PPG to 26 PPG.
His 50 point games in the playoffs also now go from 4 to 8

Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.

Watching Wilt flick the ball in disgust at the rim is so funny as he just wanted to get it over with as quick as possible.
Just look how far away he is from the line
He seriously could hit 20 out of 25 foul shots from half court in practise but get him in a game and he would just be horrible.
Wilt's free throws must have been a serious case of mental issues as he was an 80 to 85% shooter in practice.

This probably wouldn't be a straight line projection. If Wilt was an 75% FT shooter like Moses, they would foul him less. On the other hand, if the extra boost in FT% meant he won those game 7 clashes against Boston, he probably wouldn't have changed his style to shoot less since he was winning titles already so he'd have another 5+ years of around 30ppg.
Lot of fuzziness to any predictions here.

Jerry west was a great foul shooter and his free throw attempts in some seasons were over 900.
I would assume that teams would have to make a choice to let Wilt get the basket or wrap him up to stop him.
By why would they still do that if Wilt is a great foul shooter.
As a result I think Wilt's FGA attempts would rise due to being fouled less under the basket.

75% would do it I think assuming he was over 70% most years. Which is what I voted for Shaq though on second thought I think it would just move him in the top 5 for me(ahead of Duncan). If Wilt being a 75% ft shooter means he wins a few more titles I think it's enough. He'd have the best prime and titles to go with it. Without more titles it just raises more questions as to why his teams couldn't win though the injuries in the 68-70 period may be too much to overcome. Just imagine what this would do for his 67 season though when he shot 68% from the floor but only 44% from the line and 38% in 68. His intangibles would probably still be criticized but the on court dominance would be too much.

Wilt with 75% ft shooting means that many of those near misses in his career becomes wins.
With now a 5 and 3 record vs Russell in the playoffs
I assume that him upsetting Russell in 1962 in a series he was predicted to be swept in and then averaging over 40PPG vs the Lakers in the finals enroute to a title.
Ensures that many rank it as the goat season.
His intangibles would probably still be criticized I think but the on court dominance would be too much as he would have two of the best seasons ever in 67 and 62 to go along with 68.

20 of 25 from half court that confirmed?? That's crazy I never knew that. Nowadays you think he'd have 3 pt range in game?

Dwight famously shot 82% in Laker practice...
