LMAO, of course Dlo comes back to the Lakers and pulls off one of those crazy hit everything games he had a bunch of times before he put on a wovles jersey.

AND they are just one game back from us. What a bad loss.

Josh Hart is underrated. IQ has been very good defender all year.

Is he an upcoming free agent? I would add him to the list lof guys we need to consider. other guys I have also heard mentioned (not necessarily FAs) include: Mann/Coffey/Hyland/Clarkson/Ingles/Caruso/H Jones and a few others I forget. We need bench scoring, shooting in general, plus a bench energy big (especially if they move or lose naz). Cam johnson is an FA, but I don’t think they have the $$ to pay him and not sure how to fit him into the rotation.

He has PO for next season. I expect him to test FA market in order to sign multiyear contract. Maybe NY will let one of IQ or Hart walk.

I don't think he is underrated in most basketball circles.

Yeah he is a F/A but we can't afford him. He is worth more than the MLE.

Quickley has another year of cheap team control. There is no way New York lets either player walk.

This. NY just gave up a FRP for Hart. No chance they let him walk, especially after how valuable he’s been to him since the trade.

Really impressed with the Knicks. Looked like Thibs was about to be fired again a year ago but he has really gotten the Knicks to a place where they are a good team. They play with a lot of discipline and Brunson is a star. Didn't see this coming.

I got a chance to watch NYK a few days ago and see why others are so high on Jash Hart here. Looks like a better and more controlled version of PatBev. Thibs finally got some younger players that he likes. Brunson was finding the FA/Trade the fit your team done right. Make people forget about the Mitchell no trade. I still not sure Randle could carry them to win 1 series.

Hart and Brunson are definite nextgen Thibs guys.

Knicks are on the verge of second-best season since Spree era

I don't see how anyone could say Gobert is a disaster. His numbers are down from last year but still 4th in rebounding. We are lucky to have him with Towns' injury. Gobert is better than Kessler, at least this year. If you use Reid as the main center for whatever scheme, teams are going to adjust and he will foul out before the half. You don't like the trade is a future concern, not this year's record.

The real mis-calculation is more with Nowell where he weren't able to step up and fill the 6th man role. If we knew that going in, I think we would kept Beasley. Also, Prince taken a few steps backward and Forbes can't hit the broad side of the barn are what's really killing us this year.

The DLo situation is more about he didn't want to play point and there is no way any team will/should give him a max contract. If JMcl didn't get hurt, we may had held off on the trade until summer.

I wouldn't call Gobert a disaster. He is however not a player that would be worth the trade package we gave. He is a solid player doing a great job on half court defense.

Expectations are skyhigh because of what we gave up. I wouldn't call him a disaster. It would be stupid to expect a fish to climb a tree.

Our role players were never in a spot to step up to cover the holes we needed. Which is why relying on them was also stupid.

DLo was also a terrible situation only accented to be worse because we couldn't get more value at his position which is what we desperately needed. If we hadn't made that dumbass trade we could have shipped him with some picks for a better player.

I wonder what Malik Beasley is thinking looking at what Austin Reaves is doing...

I think this is an interesting point. Looked at another way, our starting line up is probably stronger now

DLO to 2023 DLO .. better
Ant to 2023 Ant .. better
JMac to 2023 JMac .. better
Vando ro SloMo ..better
KAT to Gobert .. slight decline.

The problem is that last year’s team could bring in a bench with PatBev, Beasley, a better Nowell, a healthier MacLaughlin, and a healthier Prince. This year we have Rivers, Forbes, worse Nowell, and an unhealthy MacLaughlin and Prince. Naz is the only bench player that is an improvement over last season. With our sixth and seventh man gone, we’ve struggled,

I don’t blame Connelly for thinking Jaylen Nowell could inherit these minutes - he had performed whenever he had been given opportunity in each of his first three years. The general evolution of a team, and payroll, if for younger, cheaper players to supplant older, more expensive vets. And Nowell at $1.9 mil shouldn’t have been a huge performance step down from the $16 mil Beasley. But at the end of the day, many of our bench players have been injured or underperforming, and it’s cost us wins,

The trade was a disaster and Tim Connelly takes the blame for that. As a player, Gobert is not a disaster. He's had some monster nights and he deserves credit for that. He's the guy who nearly had a 20/20 a couple games back along with 5 blocks. I'm hoping he can integrate better with KAT now that Conley is running the show. We'll find out soon, I hope.
