Re: Scoot Henderson
and he's obviously been injured, I just told you guys he's adjusting to virtually an entirely new body and has already been out of the lineup multiple times due to injuries this yr.
but it's not even an excuse but his production right now is completely irrelevant. people really don't understand when to emphasize production and when to overlook it.

Multiple injuries at his age? Sounds like he has durability issues as well.

Not really he's was a lock for many people at 2 after that game versus Wembanyama. I think it hurt his stock more playing thus season not showing much improvement putting up mediocre stats.Hal14 wrote:Big J wrote:EvanZ wrote:Apparently he's been injured all season.
Why was he even playing then? Sounds like excuses for his poor play.
Because missing the entire season with an injury would've been worse for his draft stock.

Nah, I'd draft Miller or trade the pick. Could probably bring in a haul considering how much he's been overhyped.

I’m actually considering taking in an intern. How good are you at making coffee and cleaning urinals?

well that sucks
Decided to stop before his 3 pt percentage dropped below 25%
It's at 32.4% right now (33.3% if you include the 2 games vs Wemby's team). I doubt it would have dipped that low, hater.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

so apparently Scoot can't score, can't shoot, can't play defense with a mediocre physical pro
guess he should've been late 1st rounder this whole time.

I'm not hating at all but how many 6'2 guys like him are big time contributors who aren't amazing shooters or play makers? The only one I can think of recently is Westbrook.
Praying for Burrow

first of all, he's already a great playmaker and controls the half-court like a top tier PG. from a pure PG skill set, he's one of the best we've seen recently...so that premise on its own is wrong.
second of all, again since when is 6'2 with a 6-10 w/s small? that's Donovan's Mitchell's size and his athletic profile is even more impressive than D-Mitchell.

Other players of his archetype? Westbrook, Ja Morant, D-Rose, D-Fox. To a lesser extent, CP3, D-Mitchell, Garland.
So quite a few.
I'd flip the question on you, though. How many primary scoring options in the league right now have a loose handle, struggle to create separation off the dribble / lack good burst to get by their man and get to the rim, while also being average at best at creating for others?
Or how about this one. How many franchise players are out there who are 7'4" (or taller) with a skinny frame?
I mean, you could play that game with any prospect, pretty much..

I'd love to ignore him, except that the guy is constantly talking **** about me, and I need to see what he's posting about me so that I can defend myself.

there are no players like him tho - not sure why people continue comping him to Russ, Russ was a downhill attack the basket player, that's not Scoot, same with D-Rose who was much more finesse than power like Scoot.
like I said, we haven't seen anything like Scoot before. that's not to say again that he's generational or 'mythical', but he has no good analogs today. you might have to go back to the 80s or 90s to get a real comp.

well it's hard to know where to start, all you've done in this thread is 1) embarrassingly claim it's easier to play in the G League than it is to play against Tartelton St., 2) strawmanned me acting like I called Scoot a "mythical" prospect, and now a childish posts that is again full of strawmanning and gaslighting, and then you complain about me responding to you with a meme. you should understand that people who only deserve meme responses will receive meme responses.
Where to start, first you keep referencing a conversation from weeks ago to avoid having a real conversation. Even with that reference you keep naming Tarleton St. You do realize that would be the equivalent of me saying "who cares what Scoot does in the Gleague vs LiAngelo Ball".
Anytime someone points to something about Scoot that you don't like, you simply say "Well sometimes it doesn't matter, stats don't matter, shooting doesn't matter" etc etc... This time it included a meme. Then I responded to you by supposedly straw manning, which seems like you are using incorrectly, and gaslighting, again used incorrectly.
Legit I raise real concerns about him as a prospect then you try to waive them all off as if I am crazy for questioning him as a prospect (real gaslighting).

Speaking of exaggeration and straw manning. Nobody is saying he is a bum that doesn't deserve to be drafted.
Seems like most people who "speak down on Scoot" are simply saying they have concerns about him and would consider taking other prospects over him based on fit, need etc and that he is not in a tier of his own prospect wise.
Things I have seen called into question with Scoot are size, production, shooting, shot selection, athleticism... you know real things that matter when deciding how highly to value a prospect.
Nobody is out here making up imaginary arguments about his attitude, work ethic, iq etc.... most of the things called into question are backed by actual stats and comparisons.

You call people out for talking about shooting percentages, size, production etc... real tangible things.
Then you base your arguments around potential injuries, adjusting to his body and then tell us that you can arbitrarily know when to emphasize/ignore production on a whim to satisfy whatever view you have on said player.

when you're ready to have a "real" conversation let us know, all you did the last two pages was strawman and gaslight the entire time and then throw a temper tantrum when know one took your posts seriously.
but trust me bruv, no one's is scared to go thru your posts, here is the original one
So yeah lets ignore his overall numbers, his shooting numbers, his size, his lack of improvement... because there is a photo where he looks big in a workout photo and he is a highly touted prospect
here is your first strawman - no one's ignoring anything. it's about how much stock/weight you put in each category depending on the player. efficiency numbers for one prospect may not be as important for another prospect and vice versa. and no, I don't care about Scoot's efficiency numbers the last five games.
re: his size...not sure where tf this idea came from that he's this undersized guy. by the sound of you guys whining about Scoot's size you'd think we're talking about Trae Young or something. he's a monster 6-2 with a 6-10 w/s, huge hands, with outlier strength and force at the position. when did we get to the point where every PG needs to be 6-8?
re: 'his lack of improvement'...I already addressed that **** take when Sam Vecenie said it the first time, so you didn't add anything new to the conversation. Scoot's improvement this year was physical. he went thru a rare body transformation and he's adjusting to these changes, hence why he's had a tough time staying healthy and why his HS explosiveness hasn't caught up to all the muscle gain. this happens to any player this young when they are going thru a huge variance in body in such a short period of time.
but but but he is an elite athelte.... again lets ignore his lack of FTA, lack of dunks and just overall his propensity to settle for midrange jumpers (leading the Gleague on midrange shots per game).
yes, he is an elite athlete, and he doesn't have a lack of FTAs or dunks - these are just lies. it's hard to have a real conversation when your entire premise is based on BS.
but but but he is putting up really good stats in the gleague compared to Dyson Daniels, Kuminga and Beauchamp... and those guys are all really elite NBA players... oh wait they aren't? they are bench players. Well ignore that too then
not sure what any of those guys have to do with Scoot - but this is type of garbage is reminding me why I responded to you with a meme the first time and probably should've started ignoring your posts with your Tartelton St. is tougher competition the the GL take.
