Who had the better peak? Two players that kinda resemble one another

I would take 2021 and 2023 Randle over any version of Walker [notably 2001 & 2002]

they are about to reflect the difference of an all star in a weak conference vs. an all-nba player

Has Antoine Walker ever won a single comp on this board?

He is often hyped to be ahead of his time and compared to much better players. He needs to be compared to the likes of Antawn Jamison, Lamar Odom, Josh Smith, and Kyle Kuzma...

Lol

It’s hard to do so when one is an inefficient black hole chucker and bad defender.

—Lamar Odom doesn’t belong here. He had a nice stretch of being an immense impact player.
—Kuzma ostensibly seems like a decent comparison, but he’s not as inefficient as Walker and a better defender.
—Josh Smith isn’t as inefficient as Walker and in his three year peak, he was an impact defender and player.

Odom and Smith (data here excludes late career Smith, which is to his advantage) have evidence of significant positive impact e.g. https://sites.google.com/site/rapmstats/97-14-rapm-2. Jamison's offensive positives seem to outweigh the significant defensive cost (probably more so in prime).

Walker seems to have been a clear negative off the above methodology at least. It seemed he was pretty harmful in Dallas. I've seen a writer that seem to hate analytics argue that Miami won with him so ... I don't know ... in some circumstances on a frankly fluky champ he can be passable rotation player (fwiw, NPI RAPM that year has him circa neutral, PI clearly negative - raw on-off RS and playoffs have them a little worse with him).

I think low-efficient black hole chuckers can be very underrated sometimes. I would trade Wood for Walker without any hesitation. He was also a good rebounder and passer for his size. His courage to lead NBA 3 yrs in a row with 3PA over Miller/Allen/Peja/Tmac should get some respect :P

I only consider his Boston days and ring-chasing year in Miami when he had some motivation.

Are we talking about basketball skills or shimmying skills?
