Eyetoma might not believe this, but I’m starting to lean towards Embiid right now. Still plenty of games left with a tough schedule for the Sixers but if Embiid keeps it up, I can’t go past him.

I'm starting to lean more to Embiid too, he's been scorching with great defense and is pretty comparable in a lot of the advanced stats and is leading RPM. Jokic has been having some down games, his defense has also been awful throughout the last couple weeks. Also after tonight he loses his triple double average topped off with 4 losses in a row where his offense has been great but teams have been abusing him on defense. If this continues I think Embiid should win it.

Jokic and nuggets gonna to lose again tonight. I watched some of the game.

This is my conclusion (as embiid/sixers fan)

Jokic is this year mvp. He’s done enough. He’s scoring at will anytime he wants but for some reason won’t just take over the game.

Jokic is one Jamal murray lucky streak in 2020 from having the same success as embiid. Man. Murray is hot and cold. He’s not been good recently. And people can’t stay he’s coming back from injury. It’s been almost two full years since his acl injury.

Only so much Jokic can do. But with Murray as the second best player. I think nuggets may lose in second round if they face Dallas/gsw/Phoenix.

So I’m not sure if coach Malone is playing 4D chess and trying to slide into the 2 seed or not.

Jokic is gonna to have to score 35 a night for nuggets to win in playoffs.

Was it weaker last year when most of the contenders were in the West and Jokic put up his historic season as well?

What is this breakdown when you look at contenders vs. contenders (unless we're interested in their records vs. bottom feeders as well)? What about when Giannis/Jokic/Embiid/Tatum actually play (given that Giannis has missed 15 games already it's a bit more analysis for you to do).

MVP voters have a hard time giving MVP to someone who spends so much time in a suit on a bench. One MVP has missed > 10 games in the last 45 years (11 games missed).
Lol just stop. The East is definitively better this year

The East is top-heavy. 7 of the 10 favorites to win it all are in the West - remember your Vegas odds from last year :) ?

How is each of our MVP candidates doing against the top 5 teams in opposing conference (in games that they play in)?
The Sixers have a better record against the West than the East.

The East leads the West by 20 games if I calculated right. It means winning is easier in the West and it shows in the records of the top 4 teams vs the other conference.

Missed games matter a little, but not much in an 82 season. Unless you miss too many like Giannis probably this year.
Denver has more losses than Phily now in a weaker conference. That’s significant. Embiid should be leading the race now over Jokic. And Giannis might still be in it if they announce you should play a minimum of 65 games to have a chance to get individual awards.

Still some time but I think it could be Giannis and Embiid’s to lose down the stretch. What’s also helping Giannis and Embiid is their teams are in a dogfight with Boston for seeding so they’re going to run through the finish line. Even with Denver’s recent slide none of the teams behind them are any threat to catch them whether its inexperience(Kings), off-court issues(Mem), load management/etc(Clips) or injuries(Suns/Warriors). Starting to wonder if Denver is due for a an old Gonzaga-type showing in the playoffs.

Yep I don't trust the Nuggets in the post-season.

Jokic can only do so much. Murray is hurt or whatever. Right now they’re losing and Philly is winning. Have to give the MVP to Embiid now.

Id expect a dramatic shift in the betting lines after tonight. 76ers & Nuggets basically have identical records and with Embiid tearing up the last 2 months and the Nuggets in a free fall (not Jokic’s fault), there will be a heavy media narrative in favor of Embiid.

Sixers have 7 out of the next 8 on the road. Including a couple of back to backs.

The end of the road trip is brutal. Assuming KD is healthy

Embiid and sixers have golden state , Phoenix and than Denver to finish up the 7 out of 8 road games.

I anticipate 76ers losing 4 of those games. They have the toughest after all star break games. They are 6-3 after all star break but lucky they aren’t 3-6 in those games being down 16-20 points in 2nd half of of 3 of those games they won. (Bucks, Portland, Memphis) and Indy was down to the wire as well.

How is that looking for a triple double when he makes the same play to Gordon every game? You need to stop with this false narrative it is pathetic.

Jokic losing his case for MVP now that Nuggets are on a big losing streak. Teams have it figured out, just attack Jokic since he’s not a rim protector, and you win.

I'm sharing what people are writing online. Jokic isn't looking for a triple double but he's passive and needs to be more aggressive.

Currently the Nuggets are minus 10 in Jokic minutes during this 4 game losing streak. Nothing false about that narrative.

Bro you are so pessimistic lol. They have a gauntlet but are already through the toughest part of the schedule.

What does that have to do with Jokic and stat padding? Which has nothing to do with the current losing streak. You could have said lack of defensive effort then yes no problem. But your angle you took is really pathetic.
