Pistons win, and unbelievably, the Rockets beat the Celtics tonight, so still tied for worst.

Unreal.

I like Diallo, but I think its unlikely he stays in the 10 man rotation for us next year. Other teams around the league would have to not see much value in him either for him to end up as an 11th man with us again, or something that fights/pushes Livers for minutes. Livers just makes more sense because he is on a minimum contract for one more season. The interesting thing is these guys essentially are the same age... Diallo is actually 3 days younger even though Diallo was in the league much longer.... so its not like you're keeping Livers youth over Diallo. It's really Livers is a very high IQ player and ok athlete where Diallo is super athletic and high energy but a poor shooter and a bit of a gambler on defense.

Kenyon Martin Jr was perhaps the guy we should have taken in the 2020 2nd round instead of Saben Lee.... he's becoming a really solid rotation piece for the Rockets.

Jabari Smith Jr had to of had one of the better nights of his career.... 24 and 12 on 5 of 6 from deep.

Buddy vs Trevor Huggins. 48 minutes each. The duel of the century on March 31.

That Houston win was a big bonus. Not that I care that much whether the Pistons finish 1-3 as it doesn't effect their odds to finish top 3 and the possibility of ending up 7th instead of 5th is no big deal but still nice to see nonetheless.

Very surprised to see the Spurs win again. Never thought we'd have a chance to finish behind them but it may just happen!

I'll take assured top 5, thanks you. Sometimes there are players who can take a quick jump as a prospect. And even as it is, top five assures of no worse than say, one of the two Thompson twins. Welby and Scoot, the Miller guy probably 3, then the two brothers. If Weaver had his choice, I have little doubt he would choose the 5th pick, and it looks that way on the court, lol.

The big question I have is, does Casey start the season as our head coach? If he does, well, that will be a hot topic in Piston land.

Only if Weaver wants theBigLip Tank Machine thread to be uber active again next season.

So if we finish with the worst record the farthest we can drop is the 3rd pick correct?

Yup. There are four true picks that are in the lottery. So if four teams get lucky and move in front of you, just add 4 to your pre-lotto spot. I think Pistons get the 3rd pick. So worst case we end up at 7, which would suck. But it’s likely to be something in the middle. We end up picking 4?

Why 3rd? We’ve played one more game and have one less win than Houston, and two less than San Antonio. We have twelve games left and we’re epically tanking.

I’m not saying we have the worst record locked up by any means, but it’s certainly more likely than third worst.

I agree, we're tanking much harder than either Houston or SA, Houston in particular is basically playing their whole roster still.
We are playing multiple g-league and 10 day contract guys.

Both Houston and SA are 4-6 in their last 10 games, for reference we are 4-21 in our last 25 games. Houston, in fact is 4-3 in their last. They don't seem to be tanking at all at the moment.

I think we are definitely in the pole position to finish last

If I had to guess Houston specifically does not want to finish last this season, that would be the 3rd consecutive season and would set a futility mark that I don't think has ever happened before

Sucks lottery isn’t same as before. Should’ve started tanking the right way 5 years ago. Lol. Send Ben Wallace again and hope is the franchises luck

Last place use to get 25% at 1st pick though

But having said that , the tanking wars would have been crazy this season if that were still the case
