1) Sounds like a pretty weird, random reason for a team to not win a title. Defense, rim protection, rebounding, turnovers? Nah, this guy says the reason we won't win the title is not having any ex players on the staff

Some of the best coaches in the league didn't play in the NBA (Budenholzer, Daigneault, Hardy, Spoelstra, Mike malone, Thibs, Nurse, Popovich, etc.)

2) Aaron Miles is an ex player and is on the coaching staff

Stevens is an excellent coach that had a bunch of D3 jabronis on the coaching staff...why didn't they win? Funny that the guy who finally got through to these guys was Udoka. The same guy who played in the league.

There's zero correlation between NBA experience and coaching success.

I'm a bit surprised that we haven't given some of our Maine Squad some 10-Day contracts.

Same here. Could have waited untill after we got the ring.
Wonder if it has/d to do with him not getting the Head Coaching job, here?

It's because of recruiting and the transfer portal. Damon has to leave now so he doesn't fall to far behind the 8 ball. He's gotta get going going right away with recruiting players to come play for him. And the transfer portal already has well over 100 players in it - he's got to hurry up so he can try to get some good transfers to come play for him.

He is clearly very happy to get the Georgia Tech job. So much so that he was in tears:

If he was pissed about not getting the head coaching job here, I doubt he would've said that his time in Boston was 2 of the best yrs of his life:

Cs with the two most consistent 3-pt shooters (except they've been consistently below average?) and three of the least consistent 3-pt shooters...

It’s a college job. The transfer portal just opened. He has to recruit recruit recruit. He can’t sit back and wait until may or June - he needs to be face to face with families and players and more importantly implement strategy and create a staff

Crazy how he could be such a good college coach yet such a terrible NBA coach (and executive)

I think Pitino was pretty good at the Xs and Os. He just didn't realize NBA players weren't going to play hockey linechange full court press and be happy with it.
The teams he had were pretty putrid and Pop or Spo couldn't win have won with them.

Celtics on pace to have the 3rd most made threes in a season in NBA history (Warriors on pace to grab 1st ahead of the 2018-19 Rockets).
