Why are so many people trying to normalize his behavior? Flashing guns and assaulting minors aren't normal traits. Hope he comes out of this better because his game is exciting and the NBA could benefit from him for a long time.

There are comments in this thread and for the front page article suggesting this ain't a big deal.

Also, counseling could just be a word for therapy as well. Which would make more sense. Talking to a professional about why he is acting out and how to prevent it etc.

This must be frustrating for the NBA and ESPN. Last year everyone, including Morant, was coming down on the them for only covering a few, big market teams. ESPN invested heavily in changing that narrative by promoting Ja, and even took their whole crew to Memphis for a few days.

If they were trying to change their image with the general public, they may have bet on the wrong horse.

Ever since Ben Simmons did it mental health has become the go-to move to deal with the bad press when a celebrity effs up.
Primo did it in the offseason too. Now Ja is doing it.
It's pretty disgusting imo but it's a savvy move from a PR perspective. Not allowed to question mental health narratives these days and it's better to be a "victim" than take responsibility I guess.
