I hate when people just believe a quote out of context like you did here.

What if the question was
Is the gun yours??

What does morant supposed to say ??

NY post are pros and get low IQ people to bite on narratives and headlines without reading or
wathing the whole interview

Why is he doing sit down interviews already lol I thought he was in rehab. This is kind of a joke.

Ya, this is clearly a PR campaign. Doubt he’s learned anything from this.

Kid needs the Jameis Winston treatment. A week into “rehab” and he’s on tv doing interviews. He’s going to get in trouble again all .

Are we surprised? Honestly Silver is a spineless toad who can be walked all over. If anything they should've done the following with Morant and other players who've done dumb ****:

1) Suspend Morant for the rest of the season+playoffs+next year all without pay. This would suck for Grizzlies fans because they honestly have a phenomenal team, but when you have a face of the league that you're trying to market going out pulling a reverse 8 mile and acting like some tough guy that's BS. Then you have the laser pointing incident in which arena employees could've gotten harmed, then the incident involving an underage kid and now you got him surrounding himself with sycophants who'll tell him everything he wants to hear with no effs given about his long-term well being.

A guy like David Stern or anybody else would've sat him down and reminded him what Stern reminded Melo: Stern told Melo straight up that I know where you and your friends live, I know when you go to sleep and when you wake up. Wanna go running on the streets no problem because you'll forfeit all your future salary and blow the opportunity of a lifetime. Just remember this: the league survived before you and it'll survive without you.

2) Miles Bridges incident. He took a plea bargain and he's on probation for 3 years+having to do a bunch of parenting classes+submit drug samples due to him dry snitching on himself taking codeine. If Silver had a spine, he'd send a memo to all 30 teams that Bridges will not be welcomed back into the league until he passes his probation. The crap he did to his wife and the scarring he did to his son and daughter is sickening.

Doing something like that would remind every player that if you want to commit crimes that affect the bottom line, you won't have a job in this league. Honestly basketball should be the least of Bridges's concerns as this guy should be in prison but because he's a pro ball player he got leniency which is BS. Sucks for the Hornets as their season was destroyed before it began but honestly if the NBA were smart they'd gift wrap them the #2 pick for Brandon Miller to convince Charlotte to renounce Bridges bird rights(they ain't getting #1 based on their history).

There's way more nonsense he's allowed to happen under his watch but I'm not gonna bother.

What did Stern do about Kobes rape accusation? Karl Malones Confirmed history of statutory rape? Or when Jason Kidd beat his wife?

Don't get me wrong Stern screwed up in that regards. What Malone did was disgusting and outside of a few special events(75th NBA anniversary, all-star game in Utah) dude's been keeping a low profile. Kobe and Kidd should've been dealt with but sadly weren't. Kidd got traded immediately after while Kobe had to start from ground zero.

My guess is that if your a superstar that brings in a lot of revenue, the league will look the other way as evidenced by the stuff past/current superstars have done.

Exactly. So that's why Stern did it. That why silver did it. That's why pretty anyone on that position would do it. The player is attached to a $200 million contract (that can still be "underpaid" relative to the on court value of a star player).

The responses in this thread are just smh. Some of you guys are acting like he pointed the gun at someone or shot someone

I've lurked this board for years and have been here long enough to know that if Jokic or Doncic flashed a gun, there wouldn't be much of an uproar on the general board as it is for Ja

I think that by the time Monday comes around, Ja will realize the error of his ways and will have all his gang/gun related friends out of his life and his dad in check. There's plenty of time between now & then. If he gets booed in road games just embrace it.

This interview just proves he still has the mind of a child and has learned nothing from this situation.

Please tell us more as to why you think nobody would care about Jokic or Doncic putting themselves in Ja’s position.

It's funny how there was a significantly greater uproar over Kyrie liking a video... What Ja did was 1,000 times worse / more dangerous.

Nice try with the race baiting you idiot.

Maybe people care about this more considering Ja's friends might have aimed a gun at pacers players and security, the fights with teenagers, the gun incident last summer.

If this happened to some other random black star like say Donovan Mitchell, nobody would be up in arms about it because it would be a one off isolated incident.

Ja has a trend of stupid behavior, and for someone like me who finds him to be one of the most exciting athletes in the games history, I dont want to see him **** it up.

I read the article and came away with the same impression.

But yeah, the Post also chose an interesting still from the interview. It’s evident they want to paint him in a certain light. Which is par for the course for them, given who owns/runs them.

So it’s hard to say. Is there a video of the interview?

I don’t wish to get into this debate but that is very debatable. The reckless spreading of dangerous and hateful misinformation vs the reckless spreading of dangerous and reckless behaviour.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

The only response that should elicit a "smh" is this ridiculous post to be 100% honest. If either of those players (or any for that matter) had the history Ja now has with guns, the response would be the EXACT same. Period.

I would much rather an honest moment where he came out and said "I've been acting out of line, I was immature/reckless, the money went to my head, the fame/power got the best of me, I've been a walking fake tough guy d bag, and I'm sorry". I'll do better

To hide behind the notion of mental health and reference anxiety, breathing techniques, etc is such a joke but that's what society has become. Jump all over someone and then let em play victim til we move on to the next. Zero surprise this is all the NBA and Disney needed from him. Cover their business asses and move on.

Probably because your race baiting comment/accusation is baseless and involve a hypothetical situation that cannot be proven. Instead of discussing the actual event, you are downplaying Ja's actions (and we are talking about the string of incidences leading up to his suspension) based on his skin color. It would be like me saying I've lurked this board for years and have been here long enough to know that if Jokic or Doncic did the same things, there would be a bigger uproar (not that I believe this is true). It is pointless. So if you want to make a claim that the public (or comments in here) are harder on Ja due to his skin color, then find us an incident that happened recently that was similar and that white/european (whatever you are claiming) are being judged more leniently.
