On the flip side, OG has found Poeltl for a few drop-off passes where Poeltl has converted 6/10 shots. That connection along with the obvious FVV/Poeltl PNR (where Poeltl has done most of his damage and FVV has found more space to either get his own shot off or find an open teammate) has been a huge boost for our offence.

Yeah OG has higher IQ than some think, for working with Jak. And is an underrated passer too. And Fred has found PNR connection with Jak. The disappointing thing has been Pascal, who we thought would have a lot more chemistry with Jak than we've seen so far

Don't think it's necessarily a lack of IQ with OG. It's just a lack of skill. He just looks uncomfortable when asked to do too much on the offensive end. He's an excellent player when he just focuses in on the simple things.

10.2 NetRTG

big reason why the starters are winning their minutes

Siakam/Barnes/Poeltl is the most used 3 man lineup since the trade (283 minuets) and it has a 119.3/104.8 +14.5NRTG split.

Add FVV and OG, they are 125/106 per 100 and +57
Poeltl is proven and sneaky good.

This.

Poeltl seems to be the connective piece that allows the rest of our talented starting 5 to work together more efficiently.

I was curious about the impact to OG specifically, largely because when I watch, he no longer randomly has to bang with the other team's big for several possessions in a row bc he's the strongest guy on the floor and long enough.

The domino effect of Yak's presence has been amazing.

with yak on the court, our drtg is 106.7. that would be #1 in the league by 3 full points.

with koloko on the court, our drtg is 103.4. that would be #1 in the league by 6 full points.

It makes sense. Koloko has longer arms and better blocking instincts and the league is aware of him. Keeping a 7'1 center on the floor at all times is a huge advantage.

The next move would be to trade Boucher to save money and add a stretch forward. Another 40% 3Pt shooter next to Trent would give space for guys like Achiuwa, Barnes, and Koloko to work better on offense.

Poeltl was worth a first rounder and is definitely a championship piece. If we re-sign him his value will exceed two first round picks. I'm expecting us to get into the playoffs through the play in, where if we match up against Boston it will be a test to see how well Poeltl can play against a stretch big like Horford.

The underrated part of Poeltl's defense is ability to guard on the perimeter if required. He's nimble and mobile and doesn't get embarrassed when he's away from the basket unlike a lot of other drop bigs.

we have that guy on the roster already. otto porter jr. just need him healthy next season.

I'd dump him and risk going after DDV. If we can pull off a sign and trade that would be even better, since it's safer. We need more guard talent than anything right now.

Yeah I still have my doubts about him being able to guard out there but he's held his own so far which has been great. It's just nice to have a high efficient finisher at the rim. He does a lot of good things out there.

I also think moving Gary to the bench has opened up more scoring opportunity for OG with this current iteration of our SL.

Boucher / Thad / OPJ / Flynn is about 28mill next year. If we could get a 24mill dollar guard for that platter that might be worth entertaining.
Someone mentioned Scary terry, but he's making 21mill for 4more yrs, not sure we wanna tie up books that long.
Hayward is a 30mill expiring next yr....
Jordan clarkson is someone who i wanna pry away, but utah probably wants picks for him

we most likely buyout thad for $1 mil instead of keeping his $8 mil contract for next year - especially if we want to avoid tax.
