Re: Scoot Henderson
also who the hell cares if Miller is mocked ahead of Scoot? that's not the issue. the issue is all the comical borderline trollish takes re: Scoot in this thread.
no one here cares if you have Miller above Scoot. cool story, maybe you can bring it up at the next national freelance scouting convention.

No one cares where you have Scoot ranked on your lists that you spend countless hours meticulously crafting for an internet forum bro.

I listened to 5 different podcasts this week where they described Scoot as a small guard, yet were getting gaslit for doing it here.

At this point the debate is done. He's no longer a lock at 2 as some believed that was my stance.

yep. That's really the gist of things. Before the season this looked like a "two-man" draft and that's definitely no longer the case. People expected to see some improvement in Scoot's game and he didn't deliver. Meanwhile, others DID, enough to close the gap at least. It doesn't mean he still won't go #2 because he's likely going to blow teams away in the pre-draft process.

By “others” do you just mean Miller? Because I don’t think anyone else in college has risen to that level. And it’s impossible to tell with the Thompson twins.

Does anyone else find it funny that he shut it down as soon as Miller started passing him up in the mocks? Definitely not a coincidence.

Jett and Whitmore shut it down too.
Maybe Miller should've shut it down too, since he scored 0 points vs the 16 seed.

Why should Miller have? He cares more about winning than draft stock.

Scoot should shut it down, something tells me he isn't 100%.

Neither is Miller, but we can see him gutting it out in the tourney.

It's not going to matter, he's going to go #2 and people aren't going to be able to accept that all the talk of movement at #2 was to make mock drafts and click bait more interesting, because no one is even going to entertain the idea that Vic isn't going #1.

Re: Scoot Henderson
Nobody is talking about Scoot as if he isn't a lottery pick in this thread, he still is a really strong prospect overall, but when it comes to nitpicking prospects you have to be honest with their potential flaws. Most of the teams drafting high are going to have 1 shot at it so for them it is a big deal if they have a guy 2nd instead of 3rd, or at least that is how I look at prospects in the top 5.
If you want to play it safe and just say yeah he is a top 4 guy and keep it pushing then nobody is going to judge you.
My main criticism at this point is Scoot can basically do no wrong in a lot of peoples eyes.
and those who do point to him failing to live up to expectations and knocking him on their boards are haters.

Re: Scoot Henderson
If you want to say Scoot is the best player right now, I think it really tough to make a case for him over Brandon Miller.
If you want to say Scoot has the best physical tools, it is tough to take him over the Thompson twins who are just as athletic but a lot bigger.
Hence why I think the conversation should be based around Scoot vs those guys, instead of simply keeping him at 2. Which was my argument 3 weeks ago, seemed like I was early to the topic as national media outlets are now pushing Miller over Scoot.

I think a lot of people penciled his name with ink into that 2 spot a year ago, and refuse to believe what recent events are telling them just because of his prep pedigree.

- you said he plays against **** competition
- you said he can't shoot
- you said he can't score at the rim
- you said he takes too many dumb shots
- you said he doesn't play with any force
- you said he's overrated physically
- you said he's undersized and called him a small guard
- you said he can't defend
- you said he hasn't improved at all since last year
- and your boy called him a PED user who'll never stay healthy
the maths isn't mathing. you're not gonna weasel out of this now and pretend you still think he's a "really strong prospect".
tell us where you actually have him ranked - cuz there is no way under the circumstances you described he should be picked anywhere near the lotto.

Someone could make the same type of red flag list for Westbrook, Kyrie, or Trae and yet they would all still be top 5 picks. And don't call me boy.

Re: Scoot Henderson
Has anyone here seen Scoot play live? I had a chance to about 2 weeks ago when Ignite came down to play the 905. My attention was on him the whole time obviously and I gotta say I came away unimpressed.
I'm not concerned about his size at pg. He looked very strong and very long. What I was disappointed in was his skillset. His shot looked flat and off. Even at the line, he came out to shoot fts at half-time and was bricking everything. His first step didn't look explosive. His dribble was very pedestrian, and he didn't make a single pass that wowed me with his vision. His was passive and overall mediocre on d.
Now, granted, the spacing on Ignite was quite bad, and maybe he just had an off night. He also got kicked out for a double tech late in the 3rd (imo completely unjustly). Still though, I came in expecting to see the second coming of Steve Francis, and walked away with visions of Suggs.
