This is really his sophomore season.
Or janky Junior season.

We may end up replacing (or benching) him at some point in the future, but there’s not a chance he gets waived.

You’re going to love next season when Fultz starts every game and continues to put up solid numbers.

I'm not going to love having an offense that can't crack the top 20 in ORTG, which is where they're gonna be without more 3PT shooting, which they're not gonna get when their primary ball handler doesn't shoot.

Magic fans loved flawed players. It’s in their nature at this point.

"Who cares about these made up advance stats, they are for nerds, Markelle has a 25 point once a month and has some cool highlights and that's what actually matters, he should be a Magic player for life." - the average Magic fan.

Lol.... every player is flawed in some way shape or form. let's not act like that's not a fact. But if all people want to focus on is a flaw and ignore the rest of his good qualities as things of worth... then... that's all that's going to be seen. I think he has worked on his 3 ... but is still not comfortable ...YET. This is the MOST WE or ANYONE has seen of Markelle fultz... and there is a lot that he is doing right.... and there are things he will continue to learn along the way. Everyone that thinks cuz someone said FVV's name and the magic in the same sentence ... does not mean that they are actively trying to see replace fultz. And just because narratives are weaved about him... doesn't mean that WeHam and coaches are in the same boat. You know.... the ones that see him daily... and not just for 2 1/2 hours every other night. Maybe they do believe in the development of the other guys. Who knows. Just saying... there is a possibility that they look at him in a totally different fashion than others do.

a) NONE of us see Anthony as a future starter
b) it is two to one that we expect Fultz over Suggs
There is a blunt reality to this. Yes Fultz can't shoot the three. But he does a lot of other things correct. Suggs is still all hype and is not actually NBA starter quality.
Yes: Orlando could upgrade the PG slot. It is possible. But Orlando could upgrade Banchero as well. The question is "at what cost"? And "does that cost make the team better"?
Fultz is evolving his game to fit this team. He has said so in pressers.
That was my chatGPT comment of the day.

A point guard that does not shoot 3’s, does not get to the line, while simultaneously not getting a lot of assists is an inherently flawed player. You can be deficient at one, but not all three.
I don’t care how many cool athletic plays he makes for himself or how often he hits a mid range jumper. It doesn’t translate into being an effective lead point guard in 2023.
I don’t need to be Jamal Mosley or Jeff Weltman to make these claims. I watch the games.
It’s a simple equation. IF Paolo and Franz are the cornerstones of the future roster THEN Fultz cannot be your starting point guard.
I just find it funny the reaction to this obvious statement is placing blame on shooting guard or bench guys. You are all lying to yourselves because you can’t get past the idea that Fultz doesn’t fit.

I would love to see him get to the line more. Maybe he can get a little more respect from the refs... but the other part is... that he gets great separation from other players. I would love for him to get more physical and mix it up... but more times than not... he's going where he wants to be with his handles, size, and athleticism. And since when does 5.6 assist look bad... when you've got 2 forwards in the starting lineup that want the ball in their hands... a playmaking center... and 2 pg coming off the bench?
The 3's we will see where that goes. needless to I think he will be working on it. I'm just saying... he still has development... and the team hasn't gotten a fair and full shake with him. And yeah... you see what they are doing in the games. But we don't know what practice and training look like. Maybe they do have more trust in certain aspects and the evolution of skills....that others may deem as just straight a lost cause.
As i said in another post.... if we attain a superior PG.... done deal. But i think what bothers me are the ones that try to make him sound like a "crap player" because they want to push their agenda. "Oh... just waive Fultz to get FVV" ... :-/ as though he is an answer. He might... or he might lead our team to nothing more than what we are now.... but on a $30 million/year contract at the age of 30.
With fultz and Paolo's and Franz's recent step backs... they have shown the potential to being a .500 team. The one thing i would love to see... is more assertiveness from harris and the team getting him the ball in the starting lineup. He has what we need.... but is a ghost most of the time.
