Probably Dirk though Durant's recent playmaking upgrade makes this interesting

When was Dirk ever considered a good playmaker? Seems like neither guy excel in this area

He wasn't one, but if we're talking era-relative it wasn't really a weakness relative to the other bigs of the time, and his range and versatility as a scorer was unprecedented for a big which allowed him to compensate for his limitations otherwise.

KD's cleanly better if we drop era-relativity though

Dirk's value as a screener helped prolong the careers of many guards like Ellis, Harris, Terry, Calderon, Nelson and Barea.

KD losing the ball so much in the 2016 playoffs has made me very low on his playmaking and overall mobility on offense.

Dirk by a small but noticeable margin, KD is pretty underwhelming outside scoring and his scoring doesn't stand up well in the playoffs. And Dirk had a big impact on his teammates despite being a mediocre passer in a way that I don't think KD did.

Linked above is a thread I made a while back on Durant vs Dirk which provided some insightful answers, almost certainly better discussion than whatever this thread will bring.
