Joel Embiid Overtakes Jokic for Highest PER in the League

Embiid should now be widely considered as the best Center/Best player in the league.

Jokic is a fine player but Embiid is the better scorer and better defender by a MILE. Jokic still has a massive edge as an assist guy but that’s it.

Embiid has proved himself to be every bit as good as an offensive player than Jokic and honestly he is probably better than Jokic on offense. Defense it just isn’t close at all.

Embiid is the MVP and he deserves it.

Can’t take anyone seriously when they say Embiid is better than Jokic offensively, and basically minimize his advantage by simply calling him “an assists guy”. Yeah sure, like how Jason Kidd and Steve Nash and Magic Johnson were just “assists guys”. His offensive impact goes so far beyond his raw numbers, and that’s obvious to anyone watching.

With that said, Embiid has been an absolute monster on both ends of the court. He’s kind of like a modern day Hakeem in terms of having so many different ways to attack you on offense while being a great defender too. Relative to the modern era, Embiid actually has more tricks up his sleeve in terms of being able to shoot the deep ball. Not quite as dominant a defender though and hasn’t dominated playoff defenses the way Hakeem was able to, but maybe this is his year, we’ll see. He’d be a worthy MVP if he won it. Between him and Jokic for sure imo.

Don’t worry the NBA writers will still come up with some narrative for why Jokic deserves to 3peat even though Embiid is about equal offensively and in a different stratosphere defensively. “Voter fatigue” doesn’t apply to the Jokic and Nash’s of the NBA.

Baby Biid fans are seriously insecure, like Baby Biid they're fighting so hard for a MVP award like it's some sort of ultimate goal.

Embiid is a comfy -250 to win MVP right now, but I hope PER has nothing to do with that calculation because I still consider it to be utterly useless

Jokic probably be averaging 29/13/7 with harden as point guard dishing out the ball since harden is distributing
The ball all around. That will take away from Jokic’s assist since he doesn’t have a true point guard. So jokic won’t be the point center

Embiid would still be averaging 34/11 and now 6 assists since he doesn’t have a point guard himself.

It’s all one in the same. Meaning Jokic points goes up. But his assists goes down.

Embiid points are the same since he was creating his own offense anyways last year without Ben Simmons at the point most of the season and he’s even more offensively talented this season. And he assists goes up without harden. He had 7 assists last night and didn’t even play in the fourth quarter without harden

Jokic is a regular season monster, Embiid too. Both have done nothing in the postseason though. Who will win the title or at least conference first ?
