Cam Johnson is a nice guy, but he is garbage. 0-4 from 3. Our 3 and D guys can't defend or hit 3s

This team lives and dies by the 3, why won’t they attack.

This team just needs one really good scorer. Too many 3 and D guys that do similar things. I like Bridges but he’s not that kind of guy.

It’s good to see Sharpe get some burn. He’s been up and down but he gives effort.

JV leaving Bridges on the bench was foolish. Cam Thomas is fool's gold. DFS and Cam Johnson are terrible. We need to call the Bulls and make an offer for Zach Lavine

I don't see the point of making the playoffs just to be swept.
Hopefully this team falls into the play in.
Maybe if the Nets miss the playoffs actual changes to this organization will be made.

He’s rewarding them for getting them back in the game. But you’re right JV should’ve put Bridges back in. Those two misses from 3 by Johnson and Curry were killer.

Also this games highlight why I said in a previous thread I'm not 100% in on Clax. Yes, he has great upside left and shows flashes of being elite. However, unless he bulks up some more, he just can't guard any real big. He gets cooked by every above average C in the league. The team is already undersize as is. Obviously, don't trade him for trash but I'd def listen for any good offer/use him as a piece to trade for a franchise player.
Unless the team pushes him to play PF (which is his actual position), I just don't see him as a long term C.

Not even mad at JV. The Nets GM keeps making bad moves and has the most secure job ever. Nothing will get better with him still here IMO

I am also not high on him. The NBA is shifting towards positionless basketball, where everyone is able to shoot, dribble, pass and defend. Clax only does one of these things which is why he is bad against real bigs.

Marks has been awful for years now but I'd go one further and say what the GM does is irrelevant because he's just a puppet for our clueless owner.

We would need a floor spacing 5 next to Clax.

Exactly. If he doesn't develop a jump shot, he basically becomes a skinny Clint Capela. Not ideal.
He did show flashes his rookie season but the Nets elite coaching staff really harnessed that skill.
Nets keep pushing 3pt shooting or bust but refuse to even get Clax trying to shoot 1 corner 3 per game

Clax has his flaws but was anyone bitching about him when KD was here and we were rolling? Right now this collection of players (I refuse to call it a roster) on the Nets are so ill fitting together that it is exposing everybody's flaws and tanking their trade values. Except Mikal because he's just extremely good.
If you think this is bad, just wait until we get swept in the playoffs averaging 90 points a game. Tank was the to go the minute after we traded KD but the owner chose ... This.
I'll say it once again but decisions made out of spite rarely turn out well.

I get that but GM is 1000 times easier to change than an owner. There are number of trash ownerships that get covered up by good GMs.
Heck, recent example, just look at PHX. Sarver was garbage tier and the Suns were still able to overcome it and make the NBA Finals and have enough assets to trade for KD.
A bad GM is crippling because they play too big a role in personnel on the court and having a good coaching staff.

KD covered up most flaws on the roster. He's not here anymore tho and won't get a player like him soon, so that stuff is irrelevant.

I'm not defending Marks by any means, in fact one of my longest posts on this board is in the Marks worst move thread, because I can't limit it to 1, or 2, or 3 etc....
But Marks isn't the one who decides that we go all in for Harden, then less than a year later decide maybe we're not all the way in, or the one that decides were a player friendly team until all of a sudden we are not. That's all Tsai. Could Marks have salvaged this if he had actual relationship with KD and Kyrie? Quite possibly, but then that's not the job description of a GM.

We fought, I didn't think we would beat Denver again. This is going to be a tough week and this will prove whether we deserve to be a playoff team or not.
IDk why you guys are ready to give up on Claxton, look around the league, Jokic and Embiid has their way against every single center no matter who's guarding them, those guys are just elite of the elite. I would throw Sabonis in there too. Claxton is the only one rebounding the ball and he has no help, Cam J is too skinny. What other center would you guys want? claxton is the least of our problems and he's as good of a defender we're going to get at that position.
I think we should try to sign and trade Cam J, he's not a 4 and he's pretty much half the player Bridges is. DFS could go too, I like O'neale better, he does more.

The bolded is why you don't trade him imo, especially when you have a team like this one that isn't contending, or close to it, and needs elite upside.
This is his first season as a starter and really his first one with consistent playing time yet he's already a good starter. All he needs to do is get a little stronger and you have the perfect modern (role player) center. If he can improve and add other aspects (i.e. jumper) than you have something much more.
tbh he's the one player on the roster I wouldn't trade because of the upside you mentioned. With Bridges although he's been fantastic, I can see a scenario where trading him makes sense. If the Rockets get Harden and want to build a contender and offer the picks back with something extra, that would be compelling. Would allow the team to actually rebuild cohesively.
