Yes...it is that embarassing. Allowing fans of the opponent to absolutely take over your home stadium is already embarassing, but to allow fans of a team that has struggled as much as the Wizards over the past few years is the lowest of the low.

I know you half-full guys avoid "being negative" at all costs, but at some point don't you just get sick of this terrible losing culture? How will we ever get better results if the fans don't unanimously demand better from the organization?

payitforward wrote:That's 100% correct -- until fans demand better, there will be no real change. We can get lucky with some high picks (as we did in '10, '12 & '13), but there will be no real progress.

& that "demand" needs to come in a real way -- staying away from the arena, buying no merch, & leaving the televised broadcasts dark.

Essentially, to accomplish these goals would require a movement, leadership, vocal effort, a slogan... that kind of thing. Seems altogether unlikely, alas.

Save Our Bucks was a big movement that yielded good results in Milwaukee.

Unfortunately, Monumental will never sell the Wiz... and Ted is going to always keep his share to himself or his son Zach.

Above all, Monumental itself looks like quite a successful enterprise -- the first winner Ted has had since the dotcom days when he became a billionaire (via Steve Case).

It's literally happening in every arena. Kings fans are coming out of hibernation. I guess this must be the first times you guys have heard about light the beam chant being chanted in every arena. Guess Tsai, Buss, and Ishbia along with all the owners should go to that same seminar that Ted/Zach should go to.

Oh, I'm well aware that Light the Beam has traveled far and wide. I watch a ton of Kings games.

Its easy to forget but the Kings fans were on suicide watch a year ago when Haliburton was traded.

Talk about a long suffering fanbase, I am very happy for Kings fans that they will get to taste the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.

With that long simmering feeling that they were robbed.

Return to Washington Wizards
