Baseball with stakes attached might as well be a totally different sport than regular season baseball.

Put the Angels game on for a bit to see Ohtani and see mlbtv have this option where we can see the pitchers spin rate and how much break is on the ball. Pretty snazzy stuff.

It needed to happen probably, but a little bummed Oakland Athletics will be a thing of the past. Kind of a historic franchise. Im not 100% clear if they are leaving after 2024 or 2026. Park in Vegas to be ready in 2027 but lease is up in Oakland after 2024. Gonna be an ugly few years yet there. Should do a trial run in Montreal in 2025 and 2026 until Vegas is ready. Although I think Nashville and maybe even Salt Lake City get a team before Montreal again.

Coliseum is a disaster but I liked the A’s. Easy to get to a game. Good atmosphere. Now I gotta go to the city if I want live baseball. Could be worse but Giants games are a completely different experience.

Good to see the Cardinals struggling. Right now up 6.5 games on them. Have to think Pirates cool off at some point as well. April overall has been pretty solid. We'll see if the Brewers can keep it going though too. Some of injuries are concerning.

Even though Arenado is obviously an elite player, I thought he had a lucky as hell season last year and above expectations for what would expect for him away from Coors. That said, it sounds like he may be playing hurt this year.

Even with that, they are loaded on offense. Their pitching is once again flimsy. I foresee something similar where they creep close and acquire 2 pitchers at the deadline.

I see Hader has blown his last couple save opportunities. Still having a good year but feel like in the end both teams should be happy. Crew still have a legit closer and best bullpen era plus filled a need with Contreras. And believe Gasser is still a top 10 prospect and could be a left hander who contributes at some point.

Padres phenom Ethan Sales is making his professional debut tonight in A-ball. DH'ing and batting second. He is 16 years old.

Crazy how every team is still within 5 games of a Wild Card spot in the NL and even all teams within 10 of top team. Curious how next few months play out and who separates one way or the other.

I bet the Brewers would love to undo that Reese Olson for Daniel Norris trade :banghead:
