1ST Q: SPURS 28 BUCKS 33

Nice come back to end the Q on good two-way play. We finished with an 8-0 run, 5-0 by Julian alone on a drive then a 3.

Then we ran down their drive, contested enough for them to miss, and then battled for the rebound to prevent easy shot or putback. Good job.

We're 11-25, 4-13 from 3 already! :o and 2-3FTs. Nine assists to 5TOs already, something to be more mindful of.

But we do have 3 blocks and 2 steals, so a good balance of competing on the D end. Crashing the boards for 9 in total, 2 on O so far.

None of us have made more than 2FGs so far but we have 13 points from the bench; every bench player who's played has scored. Our bench has outscored theirs 13-8. Good balance. Good help.

Protect the ball, keep it moving, keep competing on D.

Devin and Khris is an interesting comparison long-term. Not exactly the same style, but roles, two-way and three-level play, impact is a good reference point.

REALLY nice recognition to get Sochan the ball on a mismatch, then keeping the ball moving for the Malaki 3 attempt.

D to O! Malaki pretty move at the rim.

And we give up a steal for a dunk right back. Oof.

Pop timeout.

Sochan misses the wiiiide open right side J. Has to then get right into the play and not slouch his shoulders at the miss. Maybe I'm micro analyzing, but he has the ability to affect plays and every micro moment counts.

Malaki is making A LOT of mistakes out there in terms of giving and getting the ball. He had Julian open in the right corner and didn't pass it. He had the D board and got stripped instead of passing it ahead. Then he passed it to Blake but it went out of bounds. Film, all.

His vision for others just isn't good right now.

I hate the NBA.
Their uniforms are as stupid as the fiestas. I wait all year to see the Milwaukee Bucks and instead I get the Milwaukee Blue Popcicles......

It's Nike. They just explained why these are the city jerseys. Something about murals in some section of the city (not sure if you have their feed or ours).

But in general there are way too many. And it's less special that way.

What I really don't like is going away from the home whites. It's just something that should have been maintained.

Sochan vs. Portis. I wonder if that will turn into 'something' as the game progresses.

I like our full court press after the Diop FT.

I like our snap doubling on the sidelines though Devin's strip was called for a foul. Now his second.

Speaking of Devin, why is he on Giannis? That's not the first time either. Good experience for him I guess but we need to get an actual big on him.

Middleton gives up a wide open layup to pass to Connington for a three instead. Did I already say I hate the NBA?

We get it within a bucket and suddenly it's a 7-0 run against. These sections within Qs are something we really have to be careful about.

ANOTHER inbounds TO for a bucket.

Then ANOTHER TO for a 3.

OOF

Oh wait there's more. And end of Q transition 3.

15-2 run to end the Q.

Blitzed.

Look at that Mentor of the Month guy! I'd rather see him on the court with his real Bucks jersey than the actual players with their prom dresses..

Man, Im really grumpy tonight

2ND Q: SPURS 51 BUCKS 66

It was JUST a two-point game. Then the 15-2 run against happened.

WAY too many transition points off our TOs. I can hear Pop now tearing into us for the 15 we already have at the half. These have cost us EIGHTEEN points!

And with all their transition pushes we keep fouling, putting them at the FT line 16 times already. They've made 9, but we're only 5-6FTs so we need to get into their space with some physicality and movement.

Malaki has tunnel vision. He could and should have passed it several times already. Missed opportunities.

Sochan's made all of his shots in the restricted area (4-4). He's 0-3 from 3 and 1-3 in non-paint middies. Three level attempts. Has to knock them down but I like the looks.

Devin has not driven once. ALL of his shots are outside the paint, and from the middle of the court to left. Two elbow Js and two 3s is all he has for his efforts. I like how he's getting them as in good fundamentals to create space, off two feet, balanced, high release, but the aim just isn't true.

Collins is 2-2. He needs more touches. I know He's in foul trouble with 3 at the half, but Dieng has more attempts having played one fewer minute. Dieng also leads is with 6 boards and 4 assists in only 10 minutes.

We lead 25-22 in total rebounds, but STILL only 2 O boards and now to their 6.

Rim protection. Ball protection. Run back on D. SHARE the ball better.

Collins starts us off with good positioning on the O board, gets the putback, and the foul. Well done. Already better.

But then he gets out-positioned on the other end and fouls. His fourth. OOF.
