So it was supposed to be Mavs ball and the ref gave it to GS?

Edit: After watching the clip a few times, there isn't even a DALLAS PLAYER OVER THERE TO BE THE INBOUNDER.

Like why would all the Mavs be on the wrong side of the court if they were planning on inbounding the ball. Seems like the Mavs just screwed up.

It still doesn’t make sense. If the refs told them they had the ball and never told them it wasn’t the case anymore, what are they doing putting the ball in play? The Mavs were probably on the other side waiting for the ball.

Weird thing is. Arena announcer said it's Mavs ball and only 2 refs were on GSW side of the floor while 1 ref was at Mavs side of the floor. I think not even refs knew exactly what is going on there.

Who was supposed to get the ball? Did the refs give it to the wrong team or lied to one of the team?

The Mavs should have just refused to keep going until it gets cleared.

Refs called a timeout for the Mavs after indicating possession for the Warriors and the Mavs thought the timeout indication was a possession overturn. Was not the clearest sequence though.

I do think the refs made a mistake in that it wasn't particularly clear, one of many mistakes by the refs. Anthony Lamb got clearly and obviously shoved in the back on a new possession in front of multiple officials that led to a Mavs 3. The officials, yet again, had an awful night.

Funny Cuban is protesting a game the Mavs had a 28-18 FT advantage and the Warriors did go inside.

I saw the above play, and couldn't believe what I was seeing. I knew I'd had to have missed something. Bizzare.

That was some horrible reffing though, so they're not wrong. Bad reffing across the whole league tonight

How exactly what that play horrible reffing? He clearly signed Warriors ball and then blew the whistle for the mandatory timeout. If the Mavs really thought it was their ball, wouldn't there be two guys down there to inbound the ball anyways? Did they think the teams switched hoops too?

Funny thing is, there were only 2 refs on in bound play aswell, the 3rd ref was at the other side. And the arena announcer said it was Mavs ball. So clearly someone had to tell the announcer it's Mavs ball.

I honestly think this has a better chance than most. It wasn't a subjective call. Seems to be they just never announced the change in the call.

I have also seen a game where the protest was successful and the remaining minutes were replayed.

Ref pointed to GSW ball. Then he called a Mavs timeout.

Wood even complained to ref at baseline where the ref can be seen pointing to GSW ball the whole time.

Mavs just got confused.

After seeing the pool report and some twitter replays, I agree. This protest will not be successful.

But.... there was obvious confusion and ref should have cleared it up rather than handing the ball to the Warriors with the whole Mavs team on the other end believing something different. I see why they are pissed and would be as well. But it's not something that will be changed.

Lol Mavs. A two point basket in the third quarter did not decide the outcome of this game. Move on

This will actually be interesting. Lost 2 points and then lost by 2 points, in a game with HUGE seeding ramifications. I honestly wonder how this appeal will go cause the Mavs look like they got a case.

Change the thread title. The refs told the mavs they had possession. Inexcusable. Fire the entire crew

The only logical conclusion is that the Mavs thought it was the end of the quarter and switched sides.

Cuban seems to be arguing the Mavs forgot putting the ball in play requires someone inbounding the ball?

What's more inexcusable here is that the Mavs were on the other end of the court. No matter who they thought should've had the ball, they were not on the correct side of the court. That alone is more inexcusable than anything else. Regardless of the confusion, the ease of the points given up is 100% on the Mavericks team and nobody has a single argument against that.
