Chicago could've got #4, #36, #80 or #107 and say a second or first next year from Indy. Then look at Will Anderson Jr or Jalen Carter who are the two best defensive players. Get a early second for the BPA and a decent 3rd or 4th to add another good piece plus a pick next year.
I get the need for DJ Moore but who do they then look at with their pick? Skronski or Paris Johnson to bolster their oline or go after Witherspoon, Porter Jr or Gonzalez for secondary help or Tyree Wilson ?
I think this is the first of a couple big trades. I have a feeling Vegas is probably the next team to move up at target whose left of Young or Richardson or if the price is too high they might go after Levis.
I think they look at it like, 9 is a great spot to take an OT, probably the first OT, so you get Fields a #1 WR (cause DJ Moore is actually really good I guess, dude was a consistent 1k yard guy with guys like Kyle Allen, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Darnold throwing to him) and a top tackle, which are arguably the 2 most important positions to help a young QB besides TE
Then you just figure out the defense later. Plus, there’s a non-zero chance that Carter is still on the board at 9, nobody is questioning his talent, but if a gas mask bong caused Laremy Tunsil to drop, street racing in which someone died will cause Carter to drop too
Also, they were probably never in contention for Will Anderson anyways, if they go to 4, then Arizona almost certainly stays at 3 and gets him.
