Honestly, this is one of the simplest and best. And McD for short works just fine...

He has a “cool time” out there.

I enjoy guarding those guys," McDaniels said. "I've always watched them so just being able to guard them and try to make their night bad is fun for me."

Did he feel like he accomplished that?

"I think I did it a little bit for a cool amount of time during the game," McDaniels said. "At the end, started slipping, but I held my own."

It kind of fits his personality too. He’s never hot-tempered, and he never seems to get emotional even when he makes a great play.

Yes. Kind of fits? It fits tighter than a drum. I like when he scores a tough bucket and what does he do? He looks DOWN AT THE FLOOR and does this almost religious ritual looking sprint up the floor, snapping his head back up, like he is worshiping the basketball gods. Have you seen that? He gets me hyped. Keeping it all inside himself. Burning it all as fuel.

But on the outside, cool (aside from the rare frustration foul).

4 fouls in 30 seconds? That’s my brother!

If he keeps improving at this rate we may max him just to get that 5th year on the extension.
Would not have even thought that was possible before the year started, but he's not going to be cheap.

Is anyone frustrated right now that we probably had to toss in a couple picks in the Utah trade to hold onto him?

I expect a Mikal Bridges like extension, maybe closer to Jordan Poole.

He'll get more than Bridges.

Mikal is the better player today, but he signed a criminally low contract.

Not to mention the upcoming increase in revenue.

We would never have had to if we never made the trade.

Nope, and I don't even care that we might have to max him...

Yeah, at this point I think Bridges might be wishful thinking...

Right now, the contract I'm thinking about is Michael Porter Jr., who Connelly maxed despite much more of a potential trajectory needed for Porter. He got the max.

Something else worth considering...do we want to create the potential for another Garnett/Marbury situation?

Max?! Hold up. He's good he ain't that good tho. Just let him go to RFA we'll match from there. Why the hell would we max someone we don't need to just yet.

1. 5th year.
2. Avoid the dissension Phoenix dealt with last offseason around Ayton.

If you feel you would match an offer at the same starting point, it's bad business to not just offer it straight up.

I know everyone still has Andrew Wiggins PTSD, but this isn't that.

I like the insight he provided about how he and Ant challenge each other. With Ant encouraging him offensively and him pushing Ant defensively.

This duo could be something special if they continue to develop, similar to Boston's duo. Ant being out has def helped push Jaden to increase his aggressiveness on offense and I think it'll pay dividends as it did for Ant with Karl being out.
