Balmer has gone the opposite route, investing in starpower vs depth, and then he's complaining and pin pointing everything on Lue?
Lue has done just as much you could achieve with what has happened to his stars.

But lets face it. This core was doomed by the price OKC held Toronto and LAC to. Toronto was pissed off and declined on George. LAC paid the price. It was a price that handcuffed the franchise for the entire run. And that... you can blame Kawhi for most of it really. He just had to have faith they could add a quality player without making it one and one player only. They guys that came up the following years they could have added ... wow. They would have won title keeping AGA and trading picks instead. The rest of the blame is on Balmer for his impatience.

Absolutely. I mean, am I reading this right?
Lawrence Frank is running the team?
All the money in the world, and Ballmer replaced Doc Rivers with Frank?

Can you blame Ballmer for being upset I mean. Ballmer is a very hands off owner. He lets the guys he hires make decisions in their roles. Not sure how it’s his fault if Frank, Lue, players underachieve. all an owner can realistically do is open up the pocketbook and maintain a professional, safe culture. He’s done that.
What’s sad is if they rebuild, the chances of landing a superstar rookie like SGA tier are slim to none.
Oh, that's not all he can do, not by a long shot; and even if he wanted to abrogate all his his responsibility, his biggest decision was still who he was going to let run things and for how long.

Although let’s face it, if the Clippers didn’t pay that price to OKC, Kawhi would have went to the Lakers and they would be on their way to a 4 peat right now.

Then do what Toronto had to do... walk away. But Kawhi was never going to the Lakers and would have still signed IMO.

Pretty sure it was known that Toronto was just a 1 year gig for him. Dude was LA bound was he was free to do so. It was just a matter of which LA team was more attractive to him.

Probabaly. But if they sent picks players for George and took Westbrooks contract, Kawhi would have come back apparently. But nobody does that. Maybe it was all just for show, but that was what OKC demanded.
Him and his buddy had it set for years to come to LA, but it was always the Clippers, so the story goes.

Frank was a great Gm the last few years until recently. He won exec of the year, then runner up the year before. Lue was coaching really well prior to this year. What could he have done differently?

Ballmer wants fast results but Ty Lue is kind of the opposite, he will have a bad lineup consistently for 10 games to see if they eventually mesh. It's a combination of all the people in the organization for how they operate from Ballmer, Ty Lue to Kawhi and PG.
