He will have a wakeup call like Caremlo did a while back, when he is not being courted by major teams with max deals. Carmelo also never had the off-court issues that Kyrie has on a regular basis.
I could just be mis-remembering I guess, but the two situations don't seem all that similar. Kyrie still has talent of a max player, he just has some serious off-court problems that make him not worth the risk for the majority of teams. I don't think ANY team out there that should give him more than a 2 year deal.
I dont really remember him having issues getting max deals in his prime. He was with the Knicks and Nuggets for that entire portion of his career. By the time he was WAIVED by the Knicks, he was past his prime and I dont think even his big head thought he was a max player.
