Now we’re just giving up wide open 3s to make up for our great shooting

Regardless how clumsy Love looks. Love at center is working. He is allowing Butler to dominate the paint. Today's rotation is playing well.

We were up 12 when Bam went out, up 12 when he came back in. I will say that’s an improvement over Dedmon and Yurt at least
Hell yeah its improvement. Its usually a -30 with the 2nd and 3rd unit.

66% from the field, 64% from 3, 23 first half points from Strus, and only up 3. Gearing up to be another embarssing loss after forgetting how to play defense since the Love acquisition

Not much of a lead to show for our offense being lights out like that. Hopefully we can keep rolling on that end and start to play some defense.

The guards quit running out to contest shots, so there were wide open 3s or if they missed they easily were able to tip the ball out to wide open players. They quit giving effort on the defensive end.

And even the non tip out loose balls are being gobbled up by Brookyn.

The glass is completely exposed

When Miami's defense is more spread out (vs 4 mostly short players) on long rebounds there's less easy tap outs. Gabe and Herro got sucked in a bunch at the end and didn't make efforts to get back to contest shots.

BTW, Miami is currently out rebounding Brooklyn. It's those long rebounds that turn into uncontested 3s that's hurting Miami. Without getting lazy on defense Miami would be up by double digits, this is big reason why Miami can't get many easy wins.

100%, guards are inadequately competing and failing to close out

Love and Caleb are also getting out competed on the inside, though

The effort level has just dropped since late in the 2nd quarter.

Getting swept on the season series against a nets team where 1 loss came with KD missing an entire 4th quarter and the other 2 losses coming against the post KD and Kyrie nets is pretty embarrassing.

But like I said on page 1, if you need to get out of a bad slump and losing streak just come play Miami.
