Lightning quick release, with constant movement on offense. There’s only one guy who plays like him in the current NBA and he’s a former MVP. Hawkins probably won’t reach those plateaus but he possesses elite skills in areas every team needs. He’s always a threat even if he’s 1-15 because of those aforementioned traits.

At the same time, he’s a mediocre passer and a bad defender so he’ll need to be at least passable in those areas to get playing time in the NBA.

Been on Hawkins since January. Don't think he rises much beyond where I had him ranked (late teens to mid 20s), but I think he'll be a solid NBA player, either as a low-end starter, or a microwave scorer off the bench who will give you effort on defence.

I had Jackson as a Bruce Brown type of player, but now I'm thinking there's a non-zero chance he becomes like a poor-man's Iguodala.

If Hawkins can put together an inbetween game he’s gonna look like Booker. That shot form looks so good every time

So you're saying SDSU could lock down the current Raptors. I would bet you $10K on that, any day of week, if we could make it happen.

Fantastic interpretation of what my post entails I am truly amazed at the incredibly accurate and reasonable conclusion you have reached regarding my statement.

That is the stupidest **** I've heard all year!! Congrats. When trying to sound smart goes wrong.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. Oh man that's a really good belly laugh. You're freaking hilarious. Your super hero name is HYPERBOLE MAN!

ha ha ha.

I swear that hole was so deep I can see CHINA!! I swear I could!!! HYPERBOLE MAN! Don't take whatever he says seriously.

(Cough cough) - sorry for that outburst. Duffman please punish me. My point is don't compare the defense played in college to that played in the NBA. Differences in talent level, game clock, 3 pt usage, player size / athleticism means you need to play differently. Which is one of the reasons you see more zone in college. So I took your unusual comparison of SDSU "real defense" with our "gimmick trash" and say well if you're going to compare the defense system of two different leagues why not compare the two teams themselves. Hyperbole or not, your goal was to take a shot at our defense not by comparing it with another NBA team but SDSU. Obviously SDSU's defense would get destroyed by our offense, the would probably have to resort to a 'gimmick defense' where as their offense would be so poor against our defense we could get away with straight one and one.

Ultimately my point is not everything you say has to be a hot take or exaggerated or a shot against the team you're supporting. Your statement would have the exact same meaning if you said. SDSU plays strong D and are shutting down Creighton. You hyperbole a little too much, probably more than anyone on the internet.

First time I've heard of or seen this guy play but he's at least a bit interesting. Poor man's Shane Battier or rich man's Landry Fields.

1) DET - WEMBY
2) HOU - SCOOT
3) SAS - BRANDON MILLER
4) CHA - AMEN THOMPSON
5) ORL - JARACE WALKER
6) POR - ANTHONY BLACK
7) IND - CAM WHITMORE
8) WAS - CASON WALLACE
9) UTA - AUSAR THOMPSON
10) DAL - GRADEY DICK
11) ORL - TAYLOR HENDRICKS
12) NOP - NICK SMITH JR
13) OKC - JETT HOWARD
14) TOR - ???

That’s just a quick mock I laid out trying to think who we’d pick if we were in this position. All the favourites like Walker, Wallace, Black, Dick, and Hendricks are off the board. I’d strongly consider Podz, Sasser, Bufkin, Hawkins, or Filipowski at this spot.

At 15 I like Keyonte it's worth the gamble at that range regardless of how he ended the year and people view him

Duh I completely forgot about him. The only thing I’d worry about is Nurse giving him too much of a green light like Fred and Gary have. If he works to get better shots he could be a real threat in the NBA.

If we draft him he’s gonna sit on our bench and rot. Nurse won’t give him the big leash required for a prospect like him (inefficient offensive guard). He would have to either become an elite defender or start hitting his threes at a better percentage.

How do you guys feel about gg Jackson?

He has some warts in his game (decision making, inefficient, tunnel vision) but still only 18 and shows some real nice ball skills at 6'8-6'9.

For him I think you have to re-sign Gary to mentor him. Although Gary is young he grew up in the league fast and is mature. He turned himself into a defender. The only issues with Gary are consistency and shot selection. I don’t know if there’s anyone on our team that can teach a rookie to take better shots. Our leader takes the worst shots so it’s tough when there’s limited accountability.

He’s gonna be like a 3-4 year project but if he pans out he’ll be amazing. His physicals are ideal for the modern superstar and he kept showing these offensive flashes that makes you think what if.

People are making a big deal about his “character issues” (he complained about not getting more touches in a specific game on social media). To me that indicates he’s hungry and wants to contribute/help. That combined with his awful stats might make him a late 1st rounder.

It’s a very risky pick. He could easily not become anything but imo it might be worth the risk, I’d rather we go for the home run pick if there isn’t anyone intriguing at the range we’re at.

Missing out on Cason and TH will suck and looks likely.

Raps going to be picking 14-15 and need to hit. Rupert, Cidy
