Like I said, I'd shoot my mother if I have to. Girlfriend doesn't hold more weight to that.

You're paid a supermax. Get a new step mom or girlfriend. It's a lot of money to buy new things.

Point is that we don't know what is going on, if anything is indeed going on. I'm more inclined to believe that he was just disappointed after the game and just find an excuse.

Well he's the one who said it was beyond basketball when he was interviewed. So if it's anything in his house then he needs to suck it up and start playing basketball. Instead of jawing at the referees calling them paid hacks in game, use that energy somewhere else. I don't know what kids his age do to de-stress now, play video games? Go to Vegas, hire hookers and jack off? Smoke pot and save the earth with Kyrie? I don't know. It might be too late in the season to figure it out.

This one feels weird as well. Kyrie said he has plantar fasciitis. Then why the F is he still playing? Is he waiting for his heel to crack open?

Or he might convince his teammates to grab rebound or two.

Kidd is known to be hard headed. So I expect 4 guards and Dwight Powell to start tonight.

If we're lucky, we get to see Theo Pinson play 30 mins.

It's the NBA Playoffs, I'd shoot my mother if I have to.

Damn, you're extra aggressive tonight! Let's rather stick to Kidd's gameplan "No one dies and we're fine".

He's not playing best RS season, stats dont tell the whole story, the eye test is saying something else.

Mavs have a bad supporting cast prior to the Kyrie trade, this is further amplified now with Kyrie AND Luka on the same team as the remaining 3 other starters are required to play D now even more than before. Unluckily for Powell, Kleber and Bullock, that is put on a microscope every game. You're only as good as your last game, no matter how many buzzer beaters you hit. Now the Mavs need another roster reconstruction. They are perpetually on rebuilding mode until they hit the jackpot.

Best case is they will be like the Kings. A team with no defense but know how to play together. It will be on 2025 when they get real cap space with Kyrie and Luka getting their max contracts.

Sure he has, you have to remember how bad he was first few months last year. We're talking about the whole season not about a period of 10 games. Mavs problem this year is not Luka, but falling from the cliff in D and incredibly bad coaching in crunch time. I believe that has something with Kokoskov leaving.

Luka was the MVP last year January to May, he was clutch, either making the shots or passing to Dinwiddie/DFS, and he was a good defender who roamed, anticipated and intercepted passes, blocked shots, locked down on critical possessions, this was the best version of Luka we saw.
I think the load finished him early this year.

No. He was averaging 25.6 points with 28% for 3 in January last year. His far the best month was last February with 34.7 and 45.7 Fg%. Which is very near to this whole year's average with a lot worse FG%. He has 49.7% this year. He had 4 months over 50 Fg% this year, he wasn't even close to 50% once last year.

The big difference was that they were winning, but they were winning because the whole team was playing great D and all the players were hitting clutch shots. The biggest mystery for me is, what has happened with D this year? And what about rebounding? They're averaging almost 5 rebounds less than last year while playing faster pace.

Kyrie is Mavs 3rd best rebounder after Wood and Luka :o

Another interesting thing, i checked KP's and Wood production and both are almost on par. KP averaged more points but he also played more but Wood is more efficient than KP was ( BY A LOT ). They average almost identical rebounds with KP averaging slightly more blocks. (on 3 more mpg)

Maxi is also averaging almost 3 rebs less than he did last season. DFS, Brunson, Dinwiddie combined averaged 11.7rbs and Mavs replaced that with Kyrie at 5.3. It doesn't sound a lot but looking at the bigger picture it is. DFS, Brunson and even Dinwiddie (even though he was a horrible defender) were quite important pieces in the playoffs.

I know it's a bit of a moneyball theory but it looks like Mavs simply couldn't replace their production.

I believe it's Kidd. He is just lost. He had the plan with McGee, it failed and he just couldn't find an answer. Mavs look like in preseason after 70+ games, he couldn't build anything during all those games.

Lukas shot selection has not been good to start and the intensity of the team is yet again crap.

And they just gave up 4 offensive rebounds on 1 possession.
