Starks, I don't think that has been determined yet. But I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he could be a Type B free agent... or even a Type A free agent. He had a lot of wins this year and he's been a very reliable reliever for a few years now.

If I had to guess, I'd say a Type B free agent. If he is a Type B free agent, we let him go, IMO.

If he was Type A, wouldn't you be more inclined to let him go? I'd rather have a first round pick and a sandwich pick than Vizcaino. Then again, we really don't have many reliable bullpen arms. Hmm...it'll be quite the offseason.

Also, if Melky is ever going to be worthy of a long-term starting job in this league and particularly on this team, it's as a CF, not a corner outfielder.

Co-signed...the best thing to ever happen to Aaron Rowand was playing at Citizen Bank Park. He will not duplicate those stats away from Philly - bet the house on that.

All indication are that the Yankees want Vizcaino back.

Torre won't be the only topic of the meetings, as the group is expected to set a budget for the 2008 season and prioritize the Yanks' pending free agents. Once those have been established, the Yankees are expected to go all out to sign Rivera, Jorge Posada, Jose Molina and Luis Vizcaino, as well as open dialogue with Scott Boras in the Alex Rodriguez negotiations.

It's the sad reality of a player's market. That demand sounds completely insane until you notice Vernon Wells got a much bigger contract last winter even though his numbers aren't that much better than Rowand's.

And Carlos Lee got more and he's isn't as good as Rowand.

Vernon Wells is pretty bad. Hilarious contract.

I like Rowand, but he's not what we need right now.
