He'd be average lol and thats his stats from a time with a 3pt line. Those guys didn't have that.

You mean "hovered below the league average his whole career."

The hyperbolic rhetoric some of you guys use is comical--"worst by a wide margin"..."no precedent for anyone with his degree of scoring struggles to remain in the league"...

But that all goes back to that whole concept of Joe Blows on an internet message board thinking they're better evaluators of NBA talent and potential than the guys who actually work in the NBA. By default, you don't.
Umm no Cousy had multiple seasons of ts over league average. Lmao try again

Yeah, "there's no precedent for a guy with Hayes' degree of offensive struggles to stay in the league."

This one is even better because it shows Killian can be next to a HOF player and top 15 player of all-time. https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/player-with-the-worst-true-shooting-ever-since-2016

Also, this list being filled with a bunch of former Pistons just shows all the suckage we've had to put up with the last decade.

Given the long evolution of the game, where we currently stand, and that we're discussing Killian in the context of the requirements of the current NBA rather than those of an era which bears no resemblance to the current one, I suspect that you're playing coy. Good try.

Anyway, start that list from the advent of the spacing era onward and you'll find a bunch of players who are either very early in their careers and struggling mightily, already on the fringes of the league, or out of the league entirely. If Killian doesn't improve, then he'll find himself there as well.

Let's play a game: point out to me a player like Killian who's currently succeeding in the NBA.

I've got a bunch of cars from the early 1980s that I'd like to sell you at full price. They're totally fine. Performance? It's all good. They were state-of-the-art in the 1980s. Modern amenities? You don't need those. They were just fine in the early 1980s. Modern safety features? Nah. Who needs them? Modern safety features didn't exist back then, so don't worry about it!

I don't actually have cars from the early 1980s (obviously), but those cars were perfectly good by the standards of the day and so was Bob Cousy in the context of the NBA during the 1950s and early 1960s. Those cars are in no way perfectly good or even adequate by the standards of present day, and neither is Killian. In the context of the present day, he's an appallingly inefficient scorer and a resounding offensive minus.

In case you were wondering, league-average TS% in Bob Cousy's best season was 44.6%.

It’s beyond clear that this is the part of the season where some posters are just argumentative and trolling to keep themselves entertained. Hopefully people don’t engage with them too often.

Just let him play out the last couple years of this contract, as long he just keeps improving. He probably turn out to be the third point guard behind Ivey. I just think he’s gonna get just where he needs to be on the shooting by that time, and the rest will continue to improve. We’ve put the time in, might as well let it play out. He’s not gonna cost too much more than a vet like Joseph in those last couple years anyway.
I know Ivey has Star potential. But I don’t think at this point in time his overall positive impact on the game is not too much ahead of Killians, their age is very similar. We’ve built Killian into a solid third point guard at least, why give up on the investment now.

Manocad is a troll. Just let him argue into the void.

He will be arguing that Killian is really a lot better than blah blah blah and if he only shot 15% better he would be just like all-star X when he's playing in Greece or whatever and we just didnt give him enough time.

Its sad that so many of these guys were Pistons and after a short time it was obvious they were awful.

Dennis Smith Jr. man, ouch. That's what the Pistons got for Derrick Rose :o

Lol, usually I ignore him but sometimes it's fun seeing how far he'll dig himself.
