It’s frustrating now but with little chemistry what did you expect? Booker, Ayton, CamJ, Bridges build their own chemistry the last 4-5 years. Now we have a bunch of new guys with very little time to gel before playoffs start.

Seems like maybe waiting till the offseason for a trade of this magnitude would’ve been the smart move then huh?

Of course, but Ishbia couldn’t handle himself with a new toy and decided a deal must be done during midnight. I don’t see us winning this year let alone beating a healthy Nuggets team, but I hope Phoenix proves me wrong. Two main factors are because of little team chemistry + CP3’s decline. The dude can’t hit two straight mid range jumpers anymore. I’m more confident in his three point shooting then his mid range shooting which is a scary sight.

A 6”4 Okogie grabbing 3 times more rebounds than your 7 foot center should never happen, but it did tonight. How does a player grab just 3 boards in nearly 30 min? I’d someway somehow grab 4 rebounds in 30 min of play even though I am 5”7. On top of that 5 Suns players took more shots than Ayton did. Does he enjoy playing basketball or is this just a regular hobby for him?

Waiting to make the trade in the offseason would open it up for the rest of the NBA to make their best offer for KD. I’ll take this current Suns roster than the previous one every day in the week. I can see why there are concerns in the future but this team is a lot more built in the playoffs now. KD is 1 of 1. Y’all will see. Health will be key though.

He’s definitely frustrating to watch. Too many times I’m thinking to myself does he even care?

Just watched an interview of him after the game today talking about how him and his teammates are a bunch of dawgs. Dude is so clueless, no Okogie and Bizzy are dawgs, not you sir.

He says all the right things, but doesn’t show it on the court. Maybe he just wants to fit in with the cool guys but if you can’t walk the walk, don’t talk the talk. I agree with you it’s very frustrating and I’m hoping he at least backs it up in the playoffs like he did in 21.

1 thing that was nice to see tonight was the refs love. I think we out shot them 26-12 at the line. Might've been the only time this season we've killed a team like that FTA wise.

KD is paying dividends already.

Pretty good to get one of the few bad KD games out of the way early!

The Wolves are one of the hottest and healthiest teams in the league and we won with tough defense and team ball.

CP3 with 19 points, 6 assists, 3 boards and 2 steals playing GREAT defense.

The Wolves tried to feed McDaniels or K. Anderson in the post against CP3 but they couldn't take any advantage at all.

Book was Book.

KD was raw and looked a bit slower than he is but it's understandable after 10 games out.

All in all he was a key factor to winning for all the attention that he gets from defenders. 16-8-4 on a bad night and with minutes restriction lol, he is amazing.

Ayton was in foul trouble but he is such a huge weapon on our offense. CP3 and him had a few great connections.

Okogie played a perfect game as our fifth starter and "hustle guy". He needs to be a Suns player after this summer please.

Cam Payne had an incredible run in the second half, nice to see him with another good performance.

Ross and Warren were off in this one. Gladly we didn't need their points to win tonight.

Craig and Biyombo did a solid job on defense.

4-0 with KD. Let's go!

To be honest I think the Suns outbid themselves and we offered them such a good deal they couldn't turn it down. Now had we waited in the off season we can't include Jae and Cam is out of the question as well since he would either be waived or resigned to a bigger contract due to his RFA status.

Maybe we could have added Shamet as salary filler instead but I think Bridges plus a boatload of draft picks you probably aren't getting a better deal that that.

Kevin Durant spent nearly two months on the trade block, but the type of offers the Brooklyn Nets expected reportedly never arrived.

"From June 30 until yesterday, the Nets were no closer to a trade for Kevin Durant and there really was not a deal on the horizon for him," ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Wednesday on Get Up. "They did wait this out, they had a very high threshold for a deal. And I think somewhat to the surprise of Brooklyn and to Kevin Durant, teams did not make the kind of roster-gutting offers that was necessary to trade a player of his stature.

KD requested a trade June 30, and his availability was the NBA offseason's biggest story until the Nets announced Tuesday the sides "agreed to move forward with [their] partnership."

A perfect storm of circumstances led to Durant staying with the Nets, at least for now.

The biggest factor was the Minnesota Timberwolves' blockbuster trade to acquire center Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz. They gave up five players and five draft picks—four first-rounders and a pick swap—to acquire the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

Gobert is an impact player, but he's not on the same level as Durant since he's an old-school center in a modern game dominated by guards, wings and more versatile bigs.

So the Nets couldn't realistically deal KD for less than the package the Jazz received, especially since the 12-star All-Star is under contract through 2025-26.

In July, Fred Katz of The Athletic reported the asking prices for marquee players reached "objectively nonsensical" levels, and it was trending toward a situation where the "market collapses in on itself."

Based on the lack of movement on the Durant front, it appears that's exactly what happened. It'll probably take until next summer for the market to fully correct itself.

Now the question is what will come of the Nets during the upcoming campaign.

From a talent perspective, they should be a championship contender with Durant, Kyrie Irving and Ben Simmons joined by a group of role players led by Joe Harris, Seth Curry, Cam Thomas, Patty Mills and Nicolas Claxton.

Brooklyn also figures to add some veteran frontcourt depth now that it knows a roster tear down isn't on the imminent horizon, which will help round out the roster.

Yet, it's impossible to know whether the Nets can live up to their potential after the first three years of the Durant-Irving era were derailed by injuries and internal strife.

Answers will begin to arrive when the team tips off the regular season on Oct. 19 against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Was doing a mid-term so was unable to make any posts. Then I come to the game thread and I see we are discussing Ayton again even though the Suns won.
This is getting exhausting...

When your role player (Okogie) has three times more rebounds than your 7 foot star player. I think there is a reason to discuss it.

HAHA of course no mention of DA's 3 blocks and clutch dunk at the end. Keep hating losers.

Suns winners though!!! Rough game for KD, but getting a pass after not being in best shape right now.

This is his first THREE block game since Dec 5th against the Mavs which was 3 1/2 months ago. Will keep hating until he proves otherwise. Btw, that “ clutch dunk” was an easy dunk lobbed by either KD or Paul I can’t recall which one though.

Return to Phoenix Suns
