Minny has us right where they want us. See, we shoulda locked up 6th long ago. But now Minny has a home game. And we have no interior punch to match their 2 7 footers

They'll lose at least two games guaranteed. Denver and Sacramento.
That doesn't really matter either way. 6th or 7th is the same thing basically. Kings or Grizzlies.
We must not get to #8 or #4-5. Infinitely harder matchups in the 1st round. #6 or #7 is the same thing. We're not losing in the play in if we don't get to #6, I'm not sweating about it.
I’m not sure if you’re aware that if the Lakers get the 6th spot that they get at least 5 days rest and avoid having to beat the 8th placer to advance. If they lose to that 8th placer, they have to beat the winner of that 9th versus 10 place game taking so much toll on AD AND Lebron. It’s a reach but yes 7th is much better than 8th avoiding Denver IF they advance at all in the playin.

I thought I was the ultimate pessimist here. I thought Lakers will lose their game versus the Suns and Bulls last night but they didn’t . This team showed promise with their defense and ball rotation etc.
Everyone needs to be sharp tomorrow especially Ham. Lebron will need to play big.. literally, might need to handle one of the bigs and outplay him. D’Lo, Reaves will need to hit their shots, AD can’t be in foul trouble. Vando must limit AntMan and Schroder needs to step up.

Re: The remaining 23 games
I just really hope that the refs don't take over the game either way. It will be fun to see DLo/Vando/Beasley back in MN (and the crowd will be electric), but I want to see the best team win without the zebras getting too involved (regardless of what team that is tomorrow night).
Should be a good game, both teams have a lot riding on it and I'm sure the former Wolves will have an extra chip on their shoulder back against a team that traded them within the last year. It's the type of game where Lebron shifts into that extra gear that only he seems to have and the Lakers have been playing with a lot more urgency lately.
I could see them putting him on KAT and let Vando's hustle/energy try and stop Gobert from operating around the basket.
I just hope Adam Silver doesn't make any calls at halftime

6th spot is HUGE. Nobody wants to risk their season on a couple of games against hungry teams (anything can happen in a one game series). As you said, having that much time off, especially with how DLo/Lebron have missed games lately would be a huge benefit.

Since Bamba went down, the rumors have been hittin the streets that we are searching for a Back-up Big. Theres a reason for that. A reason that may show its ugly Head vs the Wolves

Great point. They have two bigs and we will have a match up problem for sure.
KAT is mostly an outside shooter. And Gobert doesn’t shoot much at all.
I’d assume Vandy will play on KAT or Edwards. AD will likely play Gobert but could guard KAT. Gabriel can see some minutes on KAT too.
We just don’t have enough size to match up with MIN and wish we had signed a big by now. Even if for a 10 day contract

Re: The remaining 23 games
Yup.
They will be physical with him.
AD better be up for this game. After 76 games, this one is as much of a must-win as we’ve had all year. The head to head with MIN will go a long way toward securing a decent spot for the play-in.

Listen, all these scenarios need to cease. We're not killing ourselves for #6. We have another back to back left in which Lebron and Davis will not play and we're not going to play them 40 mins a game either so we can win every one of the games remaining.
Just to have 5+ days off and a game less. Lebron has been sitting on his ass for two months, barely playing. He needs as many games as possible under his belt to build chemistry with the other players on this team anyway.
#7 or #8 is fine. We can beat Minnesota both in their building and in ours.
For all the shamockeries about twin towers, this and that. Remember Gobert was ran out of the floor in the playoffs every single time while he was in Utah. There are matchups than can be exploited, instead of worrying about how we will matchup with them, you need to start thinking how will they match up with us.
We lost plenty of gimmicks and we're in the point of the season too many things have to go our way to advance past #7.
We're 9th right now, we need to focus to actually make the damn play in first.

Not only Gobert and KAT but their bsck up center Naz Reid has arguably been the best backup center in the league averaging about 16 pts the past 6-7 games or so.
I think Lebron can handle KAT IF he stays in the perimeter so Vando can chase Edwards. But if KAT takes James in the post, they might need to double him and even play some kind of a match up Zone. The problem is Prince, MacDaniels, Conley, even the freaking Anderson are shooting above 38% from 3 this year si it’s going to be very tricky.
Ham will need to bring it and draw the best strategies. DLo needs to outplay the 38 year old Conley. Schroder needs to be pest and disrupt their offense. Reaves needs to hit his shots, hopefully this is the nigjt Beasley gets hot.

When we play the clippers we’ll be on the 2nd night of a back to back whilst they will have had 4 **** days of rest.
How the **** is bull like that happening in the last week of the season? It’s such a massive advantage. 4 games in 6 days. Absolute bull.

Not only we play the Clippers on the 2nd night of the back to back....the first game is in Utah..
This is a plain schedule loss, not even need to overthink it and expect otherwise.

Reid has a broken wrist. No need to worry about him anymore.
Gobert is an absolute negative offensively. They have two questionable offensive players playing at all times, McDaniels ain't much of a threat either.
That's if he plays much, he's a foul magnet. If not he will be replaced by Anderson who's more of the same. Does everything else but you don't need to worry about him and thing about matchups to defend him.
With switches you make sure Lebron ends up on either of them, so that he can rest as much as he can on D.
AD will take Towns and Vanderbilt will take Edwards on D. Those are the top 2 dogs. Conley is streaky as hell, he can give you 26 pts and 8 3's one game, 5 pts the next one.

That isn't quite true.
He is pretty good at taking advantage of smaller defenders close to the basket, especially with a crafty player like conley feeding him.
It'll be fine when AD is checking him, but look out for swtitches off pick and rolls, and when AD sits or is asked to check KAT.

Not sure how facts are excuses. There's been an illness running through the team since before Ant came back from his ankle (and it's been noticeable in his sluggish play/short jumpshots lately). Obviously I'm still hoping the Wolves can pull it together, but we all know that the NBA wants the Lakers in the playoffs a hell of a lot more than they want the Wolves ($$$$$$$). Hence the Scott Foster assignment.
I hope it's a good game either way, nothing worse than when refs decide games, right?
Status reports other than OUT don't really mean much in the current NBA, so the fact that Lebron and AD are "doubtful" should be taken with a grain of salt (I'm pretty sure Lebron was confirmed playing and I doubt AD would miss a big game like this if he can go).
It'd be cool to see how these teams match up with everybody healthy and not Scott Foster, but sh*t happens.

D Lo is actually trying harder than usual on defense so far. Good to see. Beasley is playing well, too. I just suggested in another thread that we should trade the two of them, lol.
