Re: Brewers/Cubs Series
Was Burnes just bad or can the bad pitching be because of Contreras behind the plate? I know he's known to be more offense than a defensive catcher, so I was just wondering if that had a factor in today's start.

Burnes had one bad inning and even that inning he certainly wasn't helped by his defense(mainly Adames). He wasn't super sharp but I thought for the most part he was fine, had a very similar start on Opening Day in Chicago last year

Every year I hate not having a Friday game after opening day.

It really sucks, and how does MLB not have a single day game today?? During the week MLB should always have atleast one nationally televised day game

I want to be excited, I am very excited to see him play, just hoping they don't burn a full year of control for the 12 games now

If he's good and the team likes him he'll be extended. He's not the kind of prospect you worry about losing a year of control.

Wiemer's ceiling is absolutely the type of prospect you worry about losing a year of. His ceiling is 30/30 potential with elite RF defense

Is there a reason we didn't have him on the opening day roster but brought him up literally a day later? One game alone is not affecting his service time to my understanding, so wondering if it's something else.

Anderson to third, Wiemer to RF
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Makes more sense now. Thanks, totally missed that. I hate day games.

I would worry about a Braun, Fielder, or Chourio level prospect. Wiemer is more on the Corey Hart level.

Ah yes. Because nobody ranked outside of the top 25 prospects ever turns into a good player

I think he can definitely be a good player. I'm really optimistic about him going forward. I'm just not worried about losing him.

Service time stuff aside, I'm very excited to see Wiemer in the bigs. His ceiling is massive, a potential 30/30 guy with elite defense in RF. I do think he'll need a bit of an adjustment period but hopefully by the end of the year is what we hope.

What I really like to see is one of our top prospects come in and actually tear it up , no adjustment period , just come and hit the crap out of the ball ! And be a sustained success ! When's the last time that happened ? Braun maybe .

Was hoping to see Wiemer, Turang, & Mitchell all in the same lineup, hopefully tomorrow.
