Re: 2022-23 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
What a joke the German NT has become.
Starting Defense of Wolf, Kehrer, Ginter and Raum. Yikes.
Goretzka, Kimmich, Gnabry, Werner these guys aren‘t even half as good as they think they are. Especially the Bayern guys.
Down 0-2 to Belgium 25 minutes in, should be down 0-4 already.

With this win, we are 7 games unbeaten (17 points).
Only time we were better in a span of 7 games was in 2010/11 when we won the first seven games.

Who is Adi Hutter and is he any good for Leicester City?
I remember when the Dolphins were perennial contenders

He was fairly successful at Eintracht Frankfurt for three years. Finished 5th in his best year and also went into the EL semi-final (lost against Chelsea on penalty kicks).
Afterwards went to Gladbach. Gladbach management wasn't happy with finishing 10th and then he was gone after just one year (21/22). That said, Gladbach management probably just overrated their roster because this year they are doing worse so far under Farke 1.23 points per game vs. 1.35 under Hütter.
Plays 3-5-2 or 3-4-2-1 most of the time.
No idea if he is a fireman to help Leicester escape relegation.

If we took him it would be for furthering us towards european qualification. Any new manager will avoid relegation as long as they can motivate players. We have a decent squad they just aren't playing well. Is he known for improving young players or working with experienced players or ...

Improving offensive minded players is his strength i would say. Kostic, Jovic, Rebic, Haller and Silva developed into Bundesliga stars because of him. His teams are not focused on ball possession, he likes a fast attacking style.
Giving teams defensive stability in general is a weakness of him. That obviously becomes extremely frustrating once the flow is gone.
And there was a constant motivation problem with players in his time with Gladbach. But i don´t think that was his fault. He couldn´t really play the ball he wanted. And Farke faces the same problems.

The unbeaten streak is still alive.
8 games in a row.
Although it felt like a loss today conceding two stupid goals including in the last second of the game.
Ajorque keeps his good form.
Weiper with his Bundesliga goal Nr. 2. The whole stadium goes absolutely crazy when he scores. Will be a fan favorite for years to come.
Anyway, for next season we need another quality CB.
Edit: Weiper rounding off the weekend with scoring the winning goal in the U19 semi final for the German championship (1st leg).
The boy is on fire.

So I was at the Mainz - Köln U19 semi final on Sunday.
Köln has quite a talented player in Justin Diehl.
You should watch out for him. He will be a very good player for them in the future.
I am traveling to Köln on Friday to see the 2nd leg Köln - Mainz U19 and the Bundesliga game Köln - Mainz on Saturday.

The U19 game turned out to be a pretty ugly 0-0 draw.
But Mainz will get to play in the final next week. Last (and only) time we won the u19 championship was in 2009 with guys like Andre Schürrle (nice assist in the WC final), Stefan Bell (still on the professional squad) and coach Thomas Tuchel (turned out to be a decent coach I guess)
Opponents will most likely be Dortmund who won 4-0 against Hertha in the first leg and are probably the favorites to win.

Sacking Nagelsmann to get Tuchel is one of the stupidest decisions in Bayern history.
Not getting a Lewandowski replacement is a close second.

Re: 2022-23 German Bundesliga Discussion Thread
Looking ahead we have got Bayern coming up at home on Saturday.
Hopefully, we can make it a challenge.
9 games unbeaten but the last 1:1 draw in Cologne was a poor game from us.
On Sunday, the U19 squad will take on Borussia Dortmund in the final for the German championship.
We have a talented squad around Nelson Weiper, Brajan Gruda, Philipp Schulz, Lovis Bierschenk and Dennis Kaygin.
Dortmund also has quite a few talents like Rijkhoff, Brunner or Rothe.
I am more excited visiting the U19 game this weekend than the Bayern game.
