Everybody gets the benefit of the doubt but this isn't the first time Kawhi has cancelled out on game day. When it's a pattern and not the exception, you just don't care anymore. Kawhi has operated under his own rules from the first, including showing up late for the team plane, etc. Private dressing room that first year. It's not a stretch to say this pattern is not conducive to team spirit.

A big part of it is all the mystery involved. Ty has often said he had no idea when Kawhi would be back during his many absences. Everyone's on a need-to-know basis, and that's added stress. Am I playing tonight? Am I starting tonight? What position? What matchup am I watching video on to prepare?

Wasn't really expecting much from this game, but blowing that 20p lead was a bummer. I can appreciate Kawhi being out there and now gearing up for his first B2B since forever, but still felt wonky. Especially when you have other players saying they didn't even know he wouldn't be playing in the second half. It just messes with the flow and you have to wonder if the best decision would've been to sit him out entirely.

While another loss to the Pelicans won't make us a lock for the play-in, it would most likely mean having to win the last 3 games in order to avoid it. I can already hear the roar of the crowd whenever Russ touches the ball against the Lakers.

This team will send me to an early grave and it's still only the regular season. Having said that, I'd take a first round high intensity 7 game series against anyone, just as long as we make those damn playoffs.

Its starting to become obvious that the front office and coaching staff are tired of Kawhi's schtick

I don't think people are paying attention to the way the game works now, especially at the end of the season. You aren't trying to give games away, but you are also not trying to give your potential future playoff opponents as extra preparation material.

Griz sat out their players on Wed. Nuggets sat players vs Suns last night. 76ers sat Embiid vs Nuggets. Clips proved their point in Memphis. They saw what they needed to see. They are not afraid of Griz come playoff time.

There is so much gamesmanship. Is it frustrating? Yes. However, the playoffs are what matters. They take care of business tonight and they are essentially too many wins up with too few games left to fall into the play-in. The Clips, Lakers and Suns all play each other over the next 8 days. Pelicans have Minnesota on the horizon. Warriors travel to Nuggets tomorrow.

I thought Mann is supposed to be able to play forward. NOT 4 guards, then, that's BS. :-O

Besides, the problem isn't 4 guards, it's that Powell is one of them. Since the all-star break, Powell is minus-11 per 100 possessions. That's ATROCIOUS. Next worst is Covington at minus-4.0, Plumlee at minus-1.9 and Morris at minus-1.2.

MINUS-11 PER 100 POSSESSIONS??
