Hello Brooklyn wrote:Guys please just cool down the breaks on Ben.

He was clearly injured this year. Lets give him one more season to get back healthy.

He would be the perfect compliment to this team if healthy. Playoff questions aside.

And worst case he can rebuild some of his value for a trade.

I think only people who can still have trust in Ben , is people who had any , even smallest back injury in their lifetime

At my athletic peak at age 33 ( I was playing tennis 4 hours sessions , swimming, hitting gym often then one day I injured my back , simple strain in lower back and I was handicapped for 7 months , as opposed to doctors advice I started hitting gym only two months after first injury and re injured second time , way worse , sitting on a toilet was 15 minutes ordeal)

So back to Ben , how some people expect him to play PRO Basketball with pinched nerve in lower back ?

It takes months to get back to normal , and then is this constant fear of re injuring again , if it happens more than twice within a year usually means is chronic and yes Bens carrier could be over , but saying this , how can we blame the guy ???

It’s not fun , trust me , I can’t see it how in the world he would want this and sit home and play COD while collecting fat checks , I believe he much rather play basketball

We survived 12-70 we survived Deron ,Pierce/Garnett , we even survived Kyrie drama , we gonna survive Ben too , one way or the other , I prefer to have hope that he gets better

If not , maybe lottery gods gonna give us a star with Philly pick at least

Well said, I hurt my back playing racquetball and what you say it very true.

I just want to add that we also survived the Derrick Coleman "Whoop-de-damn-do" period, the Sugar Ray Richardson drug binges, trading off of Mookie Blaylock, Sleepy Floyd, Calvin Natt, Bernard King etc etc.... and even forfeiting in the playoffs one year!

You suffer way more than myself man , I only started following Nets in 99 and that was kind of of necessity, I don’t remember exactly what it was at the time but my service provider stopped showing Knicks games ( some tv rights switch ) so I was getting only Nets games ( my whole family is all diehard Knicks fans )

So saying this I was watching this bad team called the Nets and then later Kidd trade happened and I was hooked for life ( big upside was that meadowlands tickets was dirt cheap so I was able to see most home games live)

Edit : I think if I remember correctly 99 was partly lockout season so I was still watching both Nets and Knicks ,something changed in 2000 and on regular cable in Rockland County NY was only Nets games

Actually, losing Doctor J was the absolute worst for me. The short Rick Barry years were semi-sweet but also semi-sour since we lost him too. Barry led the team to the ABA finals against the Pacers only to be beaten by that little rAT B@st@rd Billy Keller.

On the positive side, being a Nets fan improves your sense of humor. It's either that or go crazy! ;-)

I want to hear more about these toilet stories
jk... but thanks for sharing some personal insight into this injury.

We are all collectively probably not giving him enough of a pass.
Most likely because we were so used to hearing our previous stars be so vocal about anything, and then we don't hear from Ben 24/7, and we're quick to dismiss him about not caring enough.
Maybe he's just had it with the drama, social media, regular media, and chooses to stay silent and mostly communicate with just his teammates, coaches, and management.
Let him get healthy and hope he's good to go for the fall.

Every since I've been a fan there's been a lot of suffering and abuse taken from other teams. That's fine, it's part of sports and the competitive spirit. I played basketball and lacrosse in high school then lacrosse in college... There's a lot of pain that comes with sports.
And been following the Nets since they had the #2 overall pick and took the legend Keith Van Horn. Probably the lowest point for me was the post VC years where it felt like we were a rogue/pickup/LA Fitness team and could barely string together wins. Rooting for guys like Sundiata Gaines, Sean Williams, Terrance Williams, Yi Jialian, ughhh.
We are in a MUCH better place now, from top to bottom - roster, management, location, fan base. I'm thankful!
