The Mitchell trades chatter, that took place over the course of a week, no?

No, it was like two months. As soon as the Gobert trade went down at the beginning of July the rumors started until Mitchell was traded at the beginning of Sept. There are some who believe as soon as the coach was fired the players knew what was coming from a meeting with owners but just speculation imo.

I guess either way, lucky for Mitchell to have landed on the better team.

It's bold to lol Knicks vis a vis the Cavs when we just beat them by 14 without Randle but that's never stopped anyone here.

Good call, since the Cavs were not missing any starters and all.

So let me get this straight. Cavs with Mitchell have to be full strength to beat the shorthanded Knicks... but he joined the better team?

Hmmmm. Maybe Mitchell kinda sucks then.

It's hard to think the Cavs as currently constructed and playing aren't the better team until this upcoming series shows us who it really is though he teams appear much closer together now than they did before the season.

What's with all the Knicks fans in this thread acting like a one-game sample is indicative of anything? You people are reaching hard. The Cavs are better than the Knicks this season and it's not particularly close. One game doesn't change that.

Since his handle & footwork took that leap, RJ has been getting to the rim & line at an elite rate. If his finishing and shooting off the bounce can reach league average with another offseason or two of development, RJ can absolutely still become an allstar.

Obviously not there yet...which is why I fear our FO will look to swap him for a more developed wing scorer...and his poor shooting since hurting his finger is not helping, but it doesn't take much watching him to see why someone would think RJ could be a top 3 or even top 2 option on a good team :dontknow:

He’s been a really good finisher for his whole career, FTr this year is down since last year, he’s never been able to shoot from anywhere on the floor, can’t do anything with his right hand, dreadful defender, below average rebounder for his size…

But yea he hurt his finger lol

Many of these are factually incorrect or misleading presented, but somehow I suspect you don't care too much about that

As you were.

Which ones are factually incorrect? Go ahead and list them so I can bust out the stats

Cavs have a bigger upside. At the moment, I don't think the Knicks have anyone that will be as good as Mobley. At the same time though, Mitchell might be holding Mobley back.

Knicks fans still hurt they didn’t get Mitchell I see

Going to be glorious when the Cavs close them out in 5. Let’s just hope they have Randle so we don’t have to hear a bunch of whining and excuses

What about the fact that you lost to the Hornets? What about the fact that Orlando swept Boston? It doesn't mean much. It's a long season and sometimes the circumstances or matchups just go the other way. No one in their right mind would take the Knicks roster over the Cavs roster.

Overrated compared to what? Because you saw a thread on GB and it annoyed you?

And yet they're just three games ahead. And they have Donovan Mitchell. Not to mention, this isn't the same Knicks team that started the season. Check their record since they benched Fournier, Rose, and Reddish.

So how exactly did Mitchell join a much better team when the team is only three games ahead with Mitchell and the Knicks waxed them head to head? Which is it? Were the Cavs not actually that much better than the Knicks or is Mitchell not that much of a difference maker?
