Passing Utah for a lower record is unlikely they are playing a tougher schedule than we have and we own the tie breaker 3 wins to 1 loss.

Tie breaker for draft is coinflip, so if Mavs tie the Jazz, they flip a coin for #9 or #10.
Most important thing now is not do something stupid and win one of the next 2 games.
Defense wins draft lotteries!

If the Mavs are fully committed to offense, at least do what Sacramento is doing. They dont play defense either but they can score.

Do you think that the Mavs should go back to Nellie ball and push the pace and try to outgun everyone? Because I’m on the fence about it. They might not have a choice.

I think the Kings have found a way to make it work without playing lockdown defense. But it takes synergy and the play styles between Kyrie and Luka have to mesh because Fox and Sabonis play a lot of two man game and the ball moves better. Kyrie and Luka seem to be staggering isos to get their own points on the board. I also need Kyrie to be more aggressive and go back to scoring in the high 30s.

Luka and Kyrie today dont even look like CP3 + Harden in their Houston days. So you would need a Capela and a PJ Tucker to provide a back stop for the defense even if those two dont defend. Otherwise we run this thing like Dirk + Nash and Finley, Nellie style.

Kyrie needs better teammates than Powell, Kelber, THJ etc etc. There is a reason why Watanabe in BKN became the NBA's best 3 point shooter. He likes to kick out and pass to wings who can shoot. So yes, a big 3&D wing and a 3&D center is a must for this to work.

If your starting lineup is Powell, Bullock, Doncic, THJ and Kyrie, you would need Bullock's defense to mesh with THJ's game and get another player to replace Bullock or THJ with the same skillset. Then get an upgrade for Dwight Powell. That would dramatically change the outcome IMO. In short, only one of Bullock and THJ can exist in the starting lineup IMO. The other spot needs to go in for an upgrade. That and the center position.

C- upgrade
PF- upgrade
SF- Doncic
SG- THJ
PG- Kyrie

That's how it plays out eventually. They're just dragging this dumpster fire to the offseason where it can be tweaked again. Utah survived the past seasons playing the same way but they have Gobert anchoring the paint. For a quick fix I think Mathise Thybulle can help.

This team is so horrible it has become sickening to watch.
We got killed on the boards by a Bamless Heat team.
Luka had more rebounds than our 3 frontcourt players (Wood, Powell, Maxi) combined.
And there is absolutely no rim protection whatsoever on this team....at least none the coach will play.

If this doesn't open up the eyes of the FO to our Frontcourt woes, I don't know what ever will.

Has Kidd even attempted to start McGee with Kyrie and Luka?
Here is some words of wisdom to Kidd Idiot....if it's broke, fix it.

I finally climbed aboard the Tankwagon with the rest of you.
If Kidd isn't fired this off-season I won't watch next season.

Something tells me it's pre-agreed between Luka and Kyrie with Nico and Cuban. Kyrie says it's a long term thing so they just need to drag this thing until the offseason where they can start tweaking again. Some of the guys need to go.

Powell maked Cody Zeller an all star... No words. Really.
No words about him being our C starting center for 5years.

Also a friendly reminder that Mavs, in the entire game, had ONE... ONE, i'll say it again, ONE SINGLE offensive rebound vs. Bam-less Heat. And yes, Powell had that single ORB. MAX HIM!!

And yet another masterclass Kidd offensive scheme idea for the clutch. Luckily Nico said Kidd is in a safe boat, so fanbase doesn't have to worry about him being fired. Was awesome watching Maxi having 2 absolutely crucial TO's and Luka playing 1v 5.

Very nice. The Kidd offensive playbook has Kyrie becoming a very expensive spot up shooter.

Dallas shot a season-best 61% and THJr added 31 points and still lost relatively comfortably.

Symbolic of Mavs season:

It was a bit surreal to watch a guy the Heat signed off the street have a field day... while the Mavs gave multi year guaranteed money to a guy who didn't play a single minute. Sighs.

It's not only Powell, Mavs have at least 2 starters nonexistent in every game. Powell 2/3/1 and Bullock 2/2/3. You can add Josh with 0/1/0 and you have 4/6/4 in 62 minutes. Now people can blame Luka and Kyrie for only 62/13/16 with 60+ FG%.
