Ok so these are the big backs that the Cowboys are likely looking at.

Zach Charbonnet 6’1” 220 lbs. this guy would be ideal. He’s a big all purpose back. Good hands, good blocker. He would be a perfect comptroller Tony Pollard. He’s projected as a high 2nd round pick so he may not even be available at pick 58.

Tank Bigsby 6’0” 215 lbs. This guy doesn’t really strike me as a power back. He’s big and fast but kind of runs a little too upright if you’re asking me.

Roschon Johnson 6’2” 222 lbs. this guy should be available in rounds 5 or 6. Big strong runner and faster than he seems. May take some development but he would be a good compliment to Pollard.

Kendre Miller 6’0” 220 lbs. now this is the guy that I think they will end up drafting. The Cowboys have been heavily scouting TCU this off season and recently brought in Kendre Miller for a workout. He’s an all purpose back and would make a good 1-2 punch with Pollard.

It's a deep RB class. You can get a good one in Rounds 2-5.

That’s where all of these guys are expected to go. These are the big backs that look to be the best fit next to Pollard.

I do not expect Dallas to draft a RB within the first 3 rounds.

Don’t be shocked if they do though. If Zach Charbonnet is there when their 2nd round pick comes up there’s a very good chance they draft him. Same goes for Kendre Miller if he’s on the board when their pick comes up in the 3rd.

If it were up to me it would go:

rd1: DT/TE
rd2: DT/TE
rd3: CB

Of course BPA plays in. If some stud falls to them they need to take that into consideration.

TE is the #1 issue though IMO. Schultz was the #2 on the offense last year. He bailed us out so many times. Our offense without a legit TE threat is not a good thought.

Mr B wrote:If the Cowboys are looking at TE and RB I would say the best TE options for the Cowboys will be in round 1 where they can draft one of the top 3 TE’s. The top big power backs should start to go in round 2 and 3. I will have to take a deeper look at the power backs in the draft.

I thought that was the reason why they signed Ronald Jones. To me Stephen is acting way too smug on this one. I think he's blowing smoke. :wizard:

I'm hearing the same thing with this Kendre Miller Kid. I also like the Spears kid you brought up last week as well.

I can see the Cowboys in taking a Rb by round 3. Actually round 3 is a perfect spot for a RB imho. Still want DT with our first pick and then in round 2, I'm thinking OL (draft is deep with guards and center)or LB. I like our TE's we currently have so I'm thinking RB in round 3.

The first two picks could very easily be TE, and RB. I would guess though that’s only if Mazi Smith is off the board. Adding one of the top 3 TE’s and Zach Charbonnet would make the offense extremely scary.

I want the Hawks to take Roschon. I like Miller. Spears is a little small.

Roschon is definitely interesting. He might be getting a lot more publicity if not for his teammate. Roschon will likely be available in round 6 or 7.

Roschon is going much sooner. 3rd/4th Round. Most underrated back in the draft because of Bijan. You put on the film, and often times you can't even tell the difference between the two. He's a starter. I would take him in the 3rd round. He reminds me a lot of Chris Carson.

I’d be shocked if he goes in the 3rd round. Most sites don’t even have him in the top 10. PFF projects him as an early day 3 guy. So that puts him around the 5th-6th round. I could see him going in the 6th but more than likely he’s a 7th round pick.

There's no way he lasts till the 6th/7th round. He's too good. His stock is rising. His ceiling is 3rd. Floor is 5th round.

Nope.

Bijan was a roadblock for him. He would start for most college teams.

A prospect like Bijan only comes around every 5 to 10 years. Yet Roschon still got a good amount of carries. If you watch Texas, you'll realize that Roschon played a bigger role. Despite not getting the recognition. Because he was playing next to a freak.

Keep in mind, I really like Roschon and I would love for the Cowboys to draft him. Like you said he has size, power, speed and he is being underrated. I even said that he would be getting more publicity if it wasn’t for his teammate. He was a backup though and there are a lot of really good backs in this draft. There are good small running backs and there are good big running backs. It’s a deep draft for a position that has very little value right now. That’s why I think he’s going to slip to late in the draft.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
