Always hated Pop...
EDIT: Ugh, horrible day. Everyone that should have lost (SAS, POR, LAL just cuz) won, and HOU lost.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
HOU (19-60): DEN, @CHA, @WIZ
SAS (20-58): @PHO, POR, MIN, DAL
Not looking great. HOU can maybe win their last 2?
BUT SAS could win 2 as well with POR and DAL.
Kyrie gonna hose us in that last DAL game. Either by playing or not playing.

Outside Wemby the guys I like in the top-10: Wallace, Dick, Lively, Miller. Well jury’s out on Miller no pun intended.

I would prefer to miss #33 and give the Spurs worse odds of landing in the top 2. In fact, thats all I want out of this draft - the spurs ideally are not picking 1st or 2nd.

Will never forgive Ainge for helping the Lakers out of their bind.

I dont hate that he did, what I hate is that he didn't make them bleed to do so

The Lakers have to either let Russell walk for nothing or sign him to a big extension this summer. Do you trust Pelinka to make the right decision ? Is there even a right decision there ? I'm not sure it's the long term win people think it is.
The draft compensation for Utah always felt light considering the lack of leverage from the Lakers but the most likely outcome is still that LA gave up a first round pick for the privilege of losing in the first round.

I can't help but think you are underestimating this current Lakers squad.

Spurs and Rockets both with 20 wins. What happens if they have same record? Coin toss?

Good question. I'm guessing it either goes to coin toss or H2H record..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Tiebreakers are just used for playoff positioning which clearly doesn't concern those two teams. Even if it did, that doesn't carry over to the draft order. The NBA uses random drawings to break draws between teams with identical records for the draft (so you could technically finish with both a higher seed and a higher draft pick than a team with the same record). See for instance https://www.nba.com/news/ties-broken-for-order-of-selection-in-2021-nba-draft or https://www.nba.com/news/nba-draft-2022-ties-broken-official-release.
Not exactly clear how that drawing is done especially for multi way ties. Is it a series of coin flips ? Are they drawing straws ? Do GMs face off in rock paper scissors ? I need to know now lol.

HOU (20-60): @CHA, @WIZ
SAS (20-59): POR, MIN, DAL
Any of those games could go either way, tbh. MIN is probably the only one really trying to win out of the 5 opponents.

Re: 2023 NBA Draft
I'd love to come out of this draft without Pritchard and with Clowney and Jordan Walsh.
You may call me a dreamer, but I'm not... well, actually, I probably am the only one.
Edit: Walsh kinda reminds me of Noho Hank from Barry meets Ray from Mr Inbetween, but with a 7'3" wingspan. Any time a guy reminds you of multiple TV hitmen and has a rep for Tenacious D.... you gotta like him.

ha ha great character. Spot on! Walsh could easily be a 3/4 version of White and great depth. Would love to grab him

I love PP and think he is underrated. But want to trade him for his and our sake. PP + hopefully a 33rd and 38Th? pick should allow us to move up and target a nice player. Hopefully a talented True Big or muti-skilled "Forward". Doesn't have to a high floor but at least some nice (ceiling) to develop.
Or with no trade up get as many quality "projects" and hope 1 becomes that diamond in the rough.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..
