The Mavericks' GM is more motivated to lose than the Bulls' GM. The Mavs' pick is Top 10 protected while the Bulls' pick is Top 4 protected. The Bulls have to win the lottery to get their 2023 pick.

I don’t understand the thinking here. Clearly tanking moves but playing Luka which is good enough to undo the tank? Clearly Mavs wouldn’t be resting healthy players if Luka wasn’t on board with punting the rest of season for a draft pick that they can trade this summer to help him? Would Cuban instruct Kidd to lose? Talk me out of not betting the farm on Chicago tonight please/tell me if I’m missing something obvious

Today is "Slovenia's night". May or may not explain Luka playing.

Not sure I'd bet the Bulls. It's not like they are that motivated themselves.

Checking the odds, the Mavs are heavily favored to win still. Its as if they don't expect the Bulls to actually try themselves.

I just don’t get the half measure at all by you guys if the plan isn’t to lose on purpose

Trust me, no one is more confused than entire Mavs fanbase right now. I think even Cuban and Nico have no clue what to do at this point.

We'll see after the 1st Q how serious Luka is about winning, or is this just for a show because a lot of prominent Slovenians are going to be at this game. But Mavs went hard vs Kings, looked like they're pushing for that play in. Kyrie, Kidd, Luka all talked about it. Now suddenly 1 day later it's like full on tank which Luka never even agreed to. :dontknow:

The Thunder may have lost vs Jazz. Now they don't believe there's any real chance they lose against the Grizzlies (who will not play any of their best players) in the last game of the season.

Is it certain that MEM is sitting out guys? Then i guess it makes more sense. But it's just weird how they all said even if there is a slightest chance, they'll play hard. Like i said, i have no clue anymore what to think :D We'll see soon enough i guess.

They should have named me interim GM and shut everyone after the second Hornets loss.

The Grizzlies play the Bucks tonight (who will be without their best players). The Kings likely are not playing their best guys tonight. So the #2 seed will be decided. And come Sunday the Grizzlies will field their backups/Gleaguers at Thunder.

The Mavs are still big favorites to win this game against the Bulls...so it's going to be a very difficult watch. Ideally, the Mavs were massive underdogs after basically signalling that they want to lose... but no... despite all this stuff, they are still expected to win.

In short, it's a huge cluster***

Imagine if trade didn't happened, we would have been discussing Mavs 1st or potentially 2nd round opponents right now. Cuban just couldn't go out of his way.

Season quickly turned into a complete joke. That trade really messed up everything. Will be embarrassing for Cuban if Mavs end up winning afterall.

Kidd can't even commandeer a tank properly.

Luka: I want to play! My competitive nature doesn't accept the idea of tanking.

Kidd: Nice try. I know you just want to save some face after losing to the Hornets not once but twice. How about you pretend you want to compete but only play for Q1? It's not like you are clutch or anything in the second half this year. Right? Do yourself a favor to get something you like, perhaps a beer or a slice of pizza, yes?

Luka: Coach. I will only do this once since again I don't like the idea of tanking. But you got me whenever I hear you mention about beer and pizza. Okay Okay.

Everyone is happy after all. The end.

You know the season is over when Frank suddenly becomes the go to guy even with Hardy on the floor.
