The Thunder will be in the NBA Finals in 2027. There, now we've both made predictions based on no facts whatsoever.

That will be the next step. They still hope to acquire some very high level talent in the '22 and possibly '23 draft to add to a solid and young core of SGA, Dort and Giddey. In the meantime they need to continue to develop Bazley/Poku/Mann and see if they can be solid rotational players. I expect this year and next to be about drafting and development, but by 23/24 Presti will use his arsenal of draft picks to add solid veterans and start contending again. Sucks for fans for a couple of years (although this team is fun to watch) but that's reality in a small market.
You’ll be saying the same thing in 2027.

Yes we have to dump John Wall and Eric Gordon, but a core of Wood/Porter/Green/Sengun/Tate/Martin Jr/Garuba is laden with potential and skill. Compare that to OKC's core which is just SGA, Poku, Giddey, Mann and a bunch unknown draft picks. Rockets core and future prospects are looking better already than OKC's
I am going to assume You are a Rockets fan because I would take the Thunder current roster and assets over the Rockets 10/10 times. The Rockets already have an established young guy in SGA. And multiple good potential players with a ton of future assets and flexibility going forward.
SGA is going to be wasting away over the next few seasons and won’t be making the playoffs any time soon. I bet the rockets make the playoffs before okc does

Are you really bumping a thread for a team under .500 and the 10th seed? Oof.ThunderBolt wrote:Ok. Who wants to admit they were wrong? No shame in admitting bad takes. I did with the kings this year.

Wrong about what? Shai’s emergence as a bonafide MVP-calibre player makes it even more damning that Presti tried to put the worst possible roster around him that he could.
Maybe this offseason Presti will actually round out the roster with NBA calibre players, instead of the ~6 he has now. I sure hope so.

It’s deserved.
They’ve played their butts off as a young team who has been missing their #2 draft pick.
You’ve got teams around them like the Mavs with Luka/Kyrie below them, Jazz/Blazers pulling tank jobs yet they were called out. They played the season the right way when so many on here said they weren’t.

This thread was from 2021. There was definitely no Mavs with Luka/Kyrie around the Thunder in 2021.

Thunder still haven’t made playoffs though so that guy isn’t wrong. They made the play-in.

I had about a bakers dozen threads I could have bumped. When shai missed a few games after all star break, people once again lost their minds. It’s been going on since okc traded George and Westbrook and it was just a bunch of idiotic takes from day one.

Might as well not play the game at all?
How the hell are the 70 percent of the squad injured? I thought medical technologies have advanced?
Plus, how the hell are the broadcast companies paying billions of dollars for this kind of product?
Please discuss.
