I would absolutely love Kyrie on a 2 year deal. As much money as it takes.. I'd argue Kyrie is exactly what we need. An elite scoring PG that gets us from where we are now until our young guys are making all star appearances.

Not sure how we make the money work. We have the space, but not sure of timing, Could we sign Kyrie and then do an extension with Fultz to go above cap.....

I don't know how much other teams are going to be able to offer him since there are no bird rights. If we just way overpaid on a short term deal, he could rationalize it as being one of the highest paid players and earn some of the $ back he has lost the last few years.

I'd say Dallas are the heavy favorites, but I do think we could make a much better offer.

He would want a 4 year max at the very least.

How many teams can give him a 4 year max? 4/210 in Dallas or 4/201 anywhere else.

EDIT...my mistake the Mavs do have bird rights, i thought he signed in Brooklyn as a free agent...he will either re-sign in Dallas or a sign and trade elsewhere....i am not sure he gets 4 at 50 per, but definitely 4/160 or more...which is more valuable than the 2/100 i figured the Magic could give him

ok...nothing to see here.

Why do people want to nuke what the Magic are trying to build by bringing in Kyrie or Trae? Those guys are not worth the money, assets, or trouble.

I’m open to Trae if Mosely signs off. I’m out on Kyrie and I’m pretty sure our FO is also.

I'm open to the idea too - in theory he'd be a great fit. But man - any team looking to ship their franchise player has to get you worried about some seriously toxic attitude problems.

I don't want him near this team, but he can sure as hell do a lot more than shoot.

Sure but nothing else matters to Magic fans but shooting. And he would be “the answer” even though he can’t win with MUCH better teams

He only has one ring, and won 50 playoff games. What a loser.

Kyrie is strange but some of recent playoff "fails" are hardly on him. Last year Harden didn't even play in playoffs.
Year prior they lost to Bucks by half of a size of Durant's feet, to eventual champions. And once again Harden didn't play whole series and Irving missed 3 out of 7 games as well.

I guess we can blame him for Boston thing? But AGAIN in that playoffs, Marucs Smart only played 2 games. Year prior he was hurt i think? Year before that he won ring with Cavs.

very strange person, inflated ego and big personality but let's not pretend he is not great player.

Kyrie just shot 49/38/91 with 27 ppg.

He will likely be close to 50/40/90 on high volume for the next 5 years.

It's a very complex risky concept...but just remove the "he sucks" stuff from the discussion. An engaged Kyrie, even in turbulent off-court times is a top 10 talent. So much more for FO, media and fans to discuss about his whole package, but elite talent is a given.

That's not a vote to risk it all for him, but just an adjustment to the talent filter...he's an amazing player.

I think there is an argument that Kyrie is the best scoring PG in the league, and probably up there all-time. Might take some mental gymnastics...Like Luka is a point forward, and Steph is really a SG or at least combo guard, which he kind of is since a lot of his offense comes off ball. Dame this year is the right answer. And if I was choosing between Dame and Kyrie based on on court production it would be an easy decision for Kyrie....factoring in off court....well... that's completely different.

We would sign Kyrie in a second at the right price. And he is going to get paid at least near max, like all the best players in the league do. When Kyrie is on the court he's a top 15 player in the league, and looking at only offense, he's probably more like top 8

would we? every team he has been on has had player issues and every team that he left seemed to get better. is he talented? absolutely. does his talent and what he can accomplish balance out his other issues? with him and a monster guaranteed contract, you never know if he decides he wants to take a month or 2 off because of whatever reason.

Yes, if we had the opportunity to sign him we would. Doesn't seem like we will. If you have a chance to sign a top 15 nba player you do it.

Did these teams get worse? Boston had a better record with Kyrie the year he left than the next year which also saw Tatum and Brown ascend to being very good players, kind of what young stars do.

Cleveland also had a better record the last year Irving was there than the following year he wasn't, though I will say that they did seem just as good with less talent...but they did add a lot of depth the following year, George hill, Dwayne Wade, and Jae Crowder....Korver and Channing Frye were there 4th and 5th highest scorers in Irving's last year.

Brooklyn certainly wasn't better after Irving left, but the whole thing was a **** show, and a lot of it had to do with all the missed games from Irving.

Where did I say he sucked or wasn’t great? He only wins when he has stacked teams. The Magic are not a stacked team. Does it make sense now?

For every amazing play I see him make, I still can't shake his Celtics tenure and how he hamstrung the development of a young team with his locker room presence and what seemed to be empty stats that didn't contribute to winning. I don't think the talent is worth the level of headcase he is.

Similar thoughts on Trae with his unwillingness to play off-ball for extended periods and lack of defense, repeated issues with multiple coaches.

I think this Kyrie locker room stuff is overblown. Have you been to the locker room Kyrie was in? So how did you know?

Yes, rumors and sources.

Comon, give me a break. Just like this Kyle Anderson and Rudy Gobert stuff, it is over blown.

They are all adults. They know the locker room stuff.

His teammates have actually never complained about him, mostly issues with management.
