Because when he was in the game they'd switch bam and then launch 3's and Capela or Johnson or John Collins would scoop up the o.boards and slam it back. He was a liability in defense and rebounding. Not all on him, it was more scheme and personnel on the floor. He had a great game overall. He wasn't the problem for once. It was spo not playing zeller over strus or Martin among other things.

Let's see how Miami adjusts but they play a different opponent. This is a new thing for Spo. He doesnt have the luxury of adjusting the ole strap.

This makes the Play-In interesting in a random way.

Well, we have a .5% to get into the top 4. Only the top four slots are assigned using the lottery. After the top four picks are selected, picks 5 through 14 are placed in order based on their teams regular season record.

Good info, but i'd still take #14 over #20.

We're desperate for high level talent, desperate.

Since North American sports reward losing via the draft and losing is clearly the better scenario here, it's ok to want to lose. Yes it feels very strange and goes against what we've been conditioned our entire lives but them's the breaks. Don't like it, go watch not-MLS soccer leagues. There losing means missing out continental tournaments, relegation, and financial crisis if you don't win. Losing puts the very existence of your club in peril. Here losing means a better chance at getting a better player or asset. There is no existential crisis. It is favorable to us if we lose.

The only other arena I can think of where you can lose but still benefit is court. I once went to court knowing full well my motion would lose but I went just to try to get anything from the judge and that anything from the judge gave me the same desired outcome as if my motion had won. All I needed was anything, I didn't need to win the motion. I lost the battle but won the war just by getting anything from the judge. We can do the same here. We just need to get into the lottery, we don't need to win just to get swept and end up with a worse pick and zero chance of moving up.

If Raptors win vs Chicago, their size and length is going to be a big problem for us. Siakam/Poeltl/Barnes/Anunoby going to play hot potato on the offensive boards.

They definitely matchup with us FAR better. I’d almost say they match up better with us than any other team in the league. They’ll do what the Hawks did and collapse on Jimmy and Bam each time they touch the ball and use their hands a ton. It’s going to be ugly but the lottery pick is going to be a nice asset we didn’t plan on having

If (when) we lose, would we be the first division winner to ever miss the playoffs?

Honestly, as much as it would suck not being in the playoffs, for the betterment of this team going forward it kinda feels like it would be an L worth taking.

I wanted to run it back against the Celtics, once that fell through the L is clearly the best outcome here. Cooking the Sixers first round would’ve been nice but we consistently had to fumble the opportunity to snatch the 6th seed

We’re one half away from Precious tearing us a new hole.

God, I hope so.

This refurbished lineup nonsense cripples my love for our potential resurgence.

We can do better. I expect better. Trying to advocate culture over actually building a championship caliber team isnt going to cut it.

Weve had 2 deep runs with Jimmy but arent any closer to being legit contenders. Theres a limit to how much one star player can do. It takes a lot of pieces. We definitively do not have those extra pieces. Our lineup outside of our top few players is pretty bad.

You have to invest in the draft and draft well for a few years. The OKC method was the way to go. Unfortunately, their egos crippled them. What were they, 23/24 when they made the Finals? Thats amazing.

Dont go the Pelicans route and draft AD, then trade everythimg to surround him with mediocrity.

Dont go the Heat route and wait for luck to open up a potential trade acquisition then strike out by selling culture and nostalgia.

Man, Patrick Williams is legit a Kawhi Leonard clone with the way he looks, moves, jumps etc. That’s wild, I never noticed it to this extent
