then that makes the NBA an illegitimate league lol, playoffs have no bearing on the regular season end of season awards, if it did luka wouldnt make all nba this year like harden didnt in 2016 lol

thats like ignoring the great shohei ohtani in baseball because his team finishes with the worst record in baseball every year. The nba is pathetic having to protect stephen curry like this

Yep, the NBA's illegitimate. So, I don't expect you to be around here anymore since we've come to the conclusion here. Unless of course you don't have any problems being a fan of an illegitimate league.

LIke it or not, voters are influenced by what they see in the playoffs. Kyrie Irving gets alot of respect for his finals shot. Had that never happened, league perception of him as a player would be very very different. You can't mind control people. Their opinion of someone will have a lot of influences from lots of reasons. If they see James Harden choke a playoff series, their psychology would force them to be more critical of james harden in future dates, even if they don't mean to do it. I'm not talking about "Oh, lets compare hardens playoffs stats to see if he deserves all NBA" or something direct like that. I'm talking that when they see James Harden's stats, they will just naturally view it from a more critical angle, even if they aren't actually thinking directly of the playoffs.

If you dont like it, and think that makes the league illegitimate, then that's tough on you. Either choose to be a fan of a illegitimate league or do something else with your time. But I guarantee you in an alternate world where James Harden never choked a playoff series and instead won a championship or two, he would have more all NBA selections. As much as you want the All NBA selections to be a purely regular season award, psychology of human beings make it an award that has playoff performance influence baked into it, even if it's not purposeful.

That's the answer, and it has nothing to do with the league protecting steph curry or some crazy conspiracy.

the nba tv ratings have declined literally every year. Even the finals last year featuring the golden boy stephen curry had low tv ratings haha. caitlin clark was recently destroying the nba by herself haha
also the mlb does better than 90% of the nba games locally

the nba is also losing its grip on the key 18-49 demo to sports like f1, soccer and yes even pickleball that they have had a strangehold on for decades but yea there is nothing wrong, only the fact that literally no nba franchise is currently making a profit and steve ballmer overinflated the value of the other franchises when he overpaid for the clippers. But sure everything is roses

also im only a fan of harden, could care less about the nba product as a whole( its garbage pretty much),

A Sixers fan using advanced stats to make a point? I thought you guys discarded all advanced stats because they're useless and only used by white nerds who don't have an elite eye test. Seems quite hypocritical no?

thats your first mistake, im no sixer fan. Im only a fan of harden, because he is the single greatest offensive pioneer of his generation.. he changed the game. The lie is they wanna say it was stephen curry that changed the game but thats not true, if it was then adam silver would have long moved the 3 point line back, the rockets in 2013 were playing moreyball long before anyone else in the league

harden created a bunch of a little spawns across the league, from trae young, to luka, to even ant edwards a bit

the only reason a bust like markelle fultz went number 1 was because teams thought he was the next harden lol

once again the end of season awards are based on the REGULAR SEASON

Respect is earned in the playoffs....Harden often finds a way to have an awful game at the worst possible time in the playoffs

Harden could have 100 allNBA and still not be the player Curry is-

All NBA is an opinion poll-

Rings are for winning - curry has 4 rings and harden has zero. If you multiple All hardens allNBA stats by the number of rings harden hAs he would still have less rings than Curry :)

so then you are bringing up playoffs yet again

what did steve nash ever win, how many all nba teams did garnett make when he was toiling away in minnesota

for a guy like james harden who has never missed the playoffs he sure doesnt have that many all nba teams to show for it

if you by hardens basketball reference he is the most accomplished all-around guard besides cp3 since mj

this was back in 2013

the rockets with daryl morey and harden were launching upwards of 35 threes a night some night, when most teams were still launching 17. the rockets were an extreme outlier

look at harden and the rockets in 2013.. doing this curry, draymond, and klay lol, they had no clue how to defend the rockets because no one had seen this offense before

;ab_channel=GAMETIMEHIGHLIGHTS

when you are the cause of multiple rules changes over multiple seasons, then yes you had an impact on how the game is played in the future

The moreyball was good in the regular season but not in the playoffs when teams had more time to prepare.

a loss is a loss, and once again, im talking about the REGULAR SEASON, stay on focus

you cant come up with another reason why harden has been blacklisted to prop up curry other than use the playoffs lol. Like no other sport does this. The NBA is not a real sport, its entertainment at best. How many times did Peyton Manning choke in the playoffs and he still won multiple mvps because of his stellar regular season play

you keep bringing up the playoffs, and i can name several athletes who still were rewarded for their regular season excellence despite not showing up in big games
