THUNDER @ WOLVES Final play-in game Friday April 14th 8:30CT

Post#1 » by theGreatRC » Wed Apr 12, 2023 11:05 pm

Win or go home, I really want us to play the Nuggets in round 1, I seriously think the matchups can help us out, even without Jaden.

Who do you guys want to see the Wolves play on friday? I think the Thunder would be better for us matchup wise; they have less weapons and are smaller, but on the flip side, they are a scrappy, athletic team that doesn't quit.

A Wolves vs Pels rematch could be interesting too

Either way, it's a must win LETS GO WOLVES

I like a Thunder matchup more than the Pels, even with similar records (3-1 and 2-1 respectively)

I think we win either way though, so it all swings and roundabouts anyway

I just hope the OKC vs NOP game goes to triple overtime. NOP will be difficult but OKC guards may also be difficult matchup for Wolves

I hope Ingram gets pissed, drop kicks Shai who gets mad and then attempts to chokeslam Val, who then gets angry and big boots Giddey, who then gets livid and frog splashes Willie Green, who then starts fuming and eye rakes Mark Daigneault, who then gets enraged and spears Adam Silver, who then gets infuriated and is like "I don't know who you are buddy but you better start learning Chinese!"And he suspends everybody.

If that happens, I will go to church this Sunday.

OKC might really do this. Question is, can we defend all their wings?

WOW! Did not expect the Thunder to win.

This is really damning for the Pelicans IMO. That 12 game losing streak plus these last two losses were huge failures. The Pels have shown that they are an extremely exciting team and very good when they turn it on. OKC should have been easy enough to take care of business for but the loss against us was bad too, we had a two disasters strike in one game, were heavily undermanned and still won. That really disappointing.

We always think of ourselves as the hard luck fans, but every team this season has had disappointments,

Imagine being a Pels fan tonight. Ugh.

No suspension and no OT. I hope we figure out how to use Gobert to punish their small lineup like Valanciunas. This is the game we really miss JMcD to defend all those wings.

Pels still have a boatload of picks to improve their team.

Gonna be a game of running them off the line and funneling them to Gobert hopefully.

I was rooting for the Pelicans. Ingram is terrific but without Zion, they're a way less athletic team than the Thunder. We're going to have a very difficult time containing them.

Question - why don't we ever run a 2-1-2 defense with Gobert in the middle? How many teams have a big man that can break Gobert in the middle?

I think this will be tougher than expected. Especially if Ant can’t even give us his averages. The impact of Jaden missing might really show in this game.

Nowell, NAW and Prince will be important in this game as well.

That's gotta be the gameplan defensively. Especially knowing the Thunder are a top 5 3 point shooting team and Gobert is still a top rim protector defensively, you have to get Rudy's A game to win this.

We have Conley who has done an amazing job at running the shooters off the 3pt line, NAW who is relentless on defense, Kyle & Rudy are fantastic defenders, it just really sucks we don't have Jaden, but Ant has shown he can guard stars, Shai is a freaking beast, though.

Going to need defense to step up and contain SGA without McDaniels. Hopefully Rudy is healthy and has a great game, and Ant can bounce back.

Okc starting line up

Giddey 6’6
Shai 6’6
Dort 6’4
J Will 6’5
J Will 6’9

Wolves need to crush them in the paint with KAT and Rudy

Gonna miss jaden owning Giddey

I think ant should be able to match up with Shai
