Playing with a real #1 like Dame can really help Siakam. We already saw it in 2019 championship when Siakam played with Kawhi. #1 guy will absorb all the pressure so Siakam can play pressure free.

Dallas would need to sweeten the pot though, unless their pick moves up

I'd demand 4-5 FRPs from Dallas (including this year's pick). Unfortunately, given Luka's age, all those picks will probably be high (unless Luka leaves). I'm also not sure what years' picks they have available to trade.

I will say that from a fan perspective, I'd enjoy watching a Luka-Pascal-Kyrie team.

Yeah it sucks that outside picks the Mavs don’t really have a trade centerpiece that could be intriguing

I agree, we should acquire Lillard.

Portland is another dumb team like us that is clinging onto mediocrity. They'd do it.

Portland isn't exactly a model organization, but they were smart enough to tank last year and then this year. That's a lot more than the Raptors can say.

Sharp and the 3rd pick.. maybe more

the issue is we need simons to be included to it'd be simons, sharpe and pick 5-7

Simons sucks, Blazers will have to include more if they want us to take him and his fat contract for 3 more years. I'll need at least Sharpe, 2023 1st, 2024 1st (top 4 protected) and two 2nd rounders for Siakam if we're taking Simons too.

Pass for POR.

Say goodbye to Dame, enjoy tanking for the next 6 years.

Again, you personally may not covet Siakam but Joe Cronin is another story  Get ready to get fleeced.

I’m sure the 3 FRP for OG are in the mail.

Honestly Siakam is a stud. He's not a fake stud either, he's a legit guy who can take a team with a #1 option over the top. But Portland roster is really bare, even with Siakam they got no chance to do anything significant. If there's a Sharpe Simons FRP offer out there I take it without hesitation.

Idk why you're so hellbent on not getting Siakam like he's some bum. He can be a good positive defender when he's not the #1 option and can be extremely efficient when he's not the focal point of a defense. He's already a really good offensive player as is as a number one option, you just can't win a championship with him in that role. If you only give Simons, Keon Johnson and 2-4 picks depending on protections , I'd be relatively interested. Obviously, the picks is what I'm after. I don't even want Sharpe since I know how high you guys are on him. He's obviously who I'd want but I'm staying realistic.

Getting Siakam while retaining Dame, Sharpe, Grant, Nurkic and Sharpe gets you a tad bit closer to contention in a relatively open West. You do need a much improved bench though. Now all of this doesn't matter if all you want is to rebuild in the first place, but that's not what I'm getting from your front office. Seems like your fanbase is somehow hoping for Chauncey Billups getting fired in his current contract structure and Boston to not give the bag to Brown? Idk you guys are in a weird spot.

simons and sharpe for siakam was and still is the best outcome for us
sign and trade fvv and keep/develop trent because he just needs to be consistent and that can come since he is young

Simons, gtj, og, barnes, poertl
barton, sharpe, precious, boucher

still got our pick, rest is 905 fodder and a washed up vet

Portland better off dealing Dame, getting some nice assets back, and building around Simons and Sharpe.

Portland really has no leverage. Everybody can plainly tell that they do not want to go into a full rebuild by trading Dame, probably because of the potential loss of revenue more than optics.

I'm not even in favour of trading Pascal who is probably better now than Scottie ever will be. But if Dame is telling Portland to go out and get Pascal, Masai is going to bend Cronin over a barrel.

Funny how certain people get personally offended if someone calls their team's assets trash.

It depends whether we like Simons or not since he has to be in the deal for salary purposes and likely dilutes the value we get back for Siakam, like having to trade Siakam and #13 for #5 and Simons instead of just Siakam for #5. I don't see them giving up Sharpe after his late season play, trading Simons for Siakam is perfect for them allowing them to replace his minutes with Sharpe.

I don't think Sharpe is going to be on the table anymore.
Just try to get the best package you can for him, no more of this "OG is worth 3 FRP and i'm not settling for less" BS.

The thing is - Portland only has a few assets and a lot of holes to fill.

And it seems like its time for them to make a choice. Either deal Dame and build around Simons, Sharpe and picks or deal Simons, Sharpe and picks for pieces that will make them a contender.

I know Portland fans don't want to deal their young guys and I can completely understand why. Unfortunately, barring some great surprise, I believe they will be on the move whether they like it or not.

Simons, and some firsts aren't going to be enough to bring in the guys that Portland really needs to contend. You have to give to get in this league.

But I guess it all comes down to what they want to do with Dame.
