There are actually some really good picks available at 14 we should be going for to help replace crappy our depth. Its actually substantially better than what will be sitting at 20.

That pick is probably getting traded anyway no matter if its 14 or later so people are just getting their hopes/fake outrage up for nothing, unfortunately

With Miami projected over the tax next season, unless they can find someone to take in way more money than they send out, that 14th pick is highly valuable as a low cost contract to the Heat.

I expect Duncan to get stretched out to reduce the salary hit. I expect Lowry possible being moved for an expiring with or without an added pick to reduce the incoming salary by a couple Million. I expect Miami to let either both or one of Vincent/Struss go and sign Minimum salary players. There are ways to reduce salary cost, also the Pic if moved can be used as a sweetener which means it helps on trades which is also a positive. Regardless picking 14 will be better than 20.

I'm for playing Yurtseven, O. Robinson, Highsmith & Cain over Strus, Love, Oladipo & D. Robinson [=

With 3 years on his contract, he can be stretched twice the years plus 1 so 7 years. He's still got around 58 million left on his contract so Miami can stretch his contract 7 years, so Miami would be paying Duncan around 8.3 million until 2030. Nothing like building a contender for the next 7 years with the team having to build out the roster and having to stay over 8 million dollars under the tax, it would be a horrible move by Miami even with the salary cap going up. You'd basically be playing games down one decent rotation player each of those years.

For an example Dedmon is still being paid by Detroit until 2025...

While even if it's traded it will have slightly more value if it's 14 instead of 20 so I mean it's better to have that then not have it no matter what it's used for...

I’m definitely hoping the pick is traded, would just prefer it to be higher to hold more value

Miami lost its Play-In opener to Atlanta on Tuesday, a game in which they were thoroughly outrebounded and didn’t shoot well, either. Among the possibilities for changes is to insert Caleb Martin for Max Strus, and Kyle Lowry for Gabe Vincent, into the starting lineup. Victor Oladipo only played nine minutes on Tuesday and Kevin Love — a starter after he was acquired by the Heat in March — played just three minutes against the Hawks.

Vincent, the Heat’s starter over Lowry at point guard for the last month of the season, is questionable for Friday with a right hip pointer, though he practiced Thursday. Lowry, meanwhile, is coming off a season-high 33 points on 11-of-16 shooting in Tuesday’s loss.

“Really important — what he did based on all of his experience that he’s had over the course of his career,” Spoelstra said of Lowry’s big game. “The first six minutes of the game he was reading what was going on. I think if we would have gotten off to a great start and guys were rolling he probably would have facilitated more, kind of keep things going, but he sensed that we needed some aggressiveness, and he did that tenfold. We need those paint attacks from him, the random drives, 3-point shooting was key as well. But that type of assertiveness regardless of whether it’s shooting the ball all the time, is good for our basketball team.”

Pretty sure it’ll just be Lowry and Martin back with the starters. We got off to a terrible start last game. Need to fix that.

Herro would fit so much better off the bench. Struss does well with the starters

We were 3-1 vs the Hawks this season after taking out the series 4-1 last season. we've owned Trae & Atl. The loss was bizarre. I swear we're tanking for the 14th pick.

Somebody posted here a pattern indicating this is a down season which leads to a successful one. Wouldn't be mad if tank the Bulls gm to be in better position for a higher pick to use to bolster the team. I also wouldn't be surprised if we blow out the Bulls whom we haven't beaten this season lol
If u don't want 2b here, the way things work, u don't like it, then don't b here. U have 2 stand on something. If Miami ain't standing on something, they become alot of these organizations trying 2 find their identity. This is the culture, bro -Wade

Will take one for the team. Hope the Heat follow suit.

If you lead us out of the playoffs 1/2 the board will love you. If you lead us into the playoffs the other half will love you. You really can't lose. You just need to worry about the half with the torches and the pitchforks that will come for you.
