Youve always been one of the most vocal with your phony ass stats of how bad Rui was .... you never factored in who he played with and who he didnt get to play with . You were silent/complicit on the dog whistles on Rui's intelligence and even now youd be writing how he only got one assist this game as if he played poorly and was a black hole on offense . Scoring 3 levels is at a premium and the Lakers seem to value that more than you and alot of Rui haters do here .
In a big playoff game Rui picked up right where he left off since his last playoff series and even played better.Stats you'll never be able to tarnish.
You can't be referring to nate33. He may be the fairest person on this board. I don't think I've ever seen Nate criticize a player (or another poster) without backing it up with well-documented facts.
Kudos to Rui. He was outstanding today. If there's one thing Rui usually does well it's shoot the ball, especially 3pters.
*Fantastic* to see Rui have such an outstanding game against the Grizz.
As to tleikheen, he does everything he can to help you understand exactly who he is. Can't ask for better than that.

Re: Rui Hachimura 2.0
Heres stats for you Rui haters ...... in 6 playoff games Rui has played in ,avging 34 mpg including today Rui has shot 40/61 from 2 pt for 65.5 percent and shot 15 /21 from 3 pt for 71 percent avg 17 ppg and 7 rpg .
For all you saying Rui plays 1 good game and 3 bad games because of low BBIQ show who you are regarding Rui. When the lights are shining big and BB fans are watching around the world Rui is balling bigtime when he's in the playoffs. The few Rui haters here look pretty bitter and small.

Rui had good games for us. Then he either got hurt, regressed or melted down. Wait for it. It will happen and I was one of his biggest defenders.

Sounds like a young player. Same as Deni, if not more so. My problem was that Rui became this board's whipping post from day one. I'm happy for him. He certainly proved he doesn't shrink in big situations like certain 250mil players. He will be appreciated in LA unlike here.

He'll be appreciated there until he's not. Fans are fickle.
That was an awesome game though. Many fans will now expect him
to play that well more frequently.

Re: Rui Hachimura 2.0
People make way too much of this. My point from the moment he was drafted was that Rui needs to make 3’s. If he could do that he would be beneficial to a team.
Some people on this board have said he’s not an NBA caliber player. And there is nothing that he does that positively contributes to a team. Hachimura showed once again what I know, that at times he can be a very effective player.

His agent will use his playoff numbers to boost his pay next year. We'll see if the Lakers are able or willing to pay given the emergence of Reaves.

Rehash summary of the Rui critiques
Yes he has shown, albeit inconsistently, that he can be a good shooter but his
shooting numbers over time are not really special.
The problem over time has been that he doesn't do enough other things
like rebounding, assisting, block shots...
Shooting is one of if not the most inconsistent thing for most players
with the exception of guys like Gaff or RWilliams and their like that
are mostly dunkers. If you shoot much from mid-long range, you're
probably gonna have a fair bit of variation in performance from game to game.
That's Rui. The aspects of the game that he's not very good at are the ones
that tend to be most consistent among all players, from game to game.

Juan Dixon, Austin Croshere, Jerome James and now Rui Hachimura. Journeymen who all had career nights in the playoffs.

That's great games by Rui in two of the last 3 playoff games he's been in. He had a 20pt., 13 rebound game in the Zards only win in the 2021 playoffs against the Sixers.

Re: Rui Hachimura 2.0
Rui always seemed like a good guy and I’ll root for him wherever he goes. People getting upset about his treatment here have to be referring to *here* , on this chat board. He got all the court time he could handle his first 2 years, had the ball in his hands a ton. And when he struggled and needed time last year no one publicly did anything but support him and welcome him when he came back. With all that, as PIF would say, his numbers don’t lie. He was an ok isolation scorer by year 3 that offered little else. Once we believed we were going to keep Kuzma we weren’t going to be able to afford him.
I don’t really like Kuz or Rui as our power forward for the next 4 years. If we had to stay in house I’d use Deni and play Kispert at the 3. But we certainly weren’t going to keep both of them.

Making extreme statements like "only" sounds like there are "no" Jokics in this draft? Jokic is an engine that was drafted in the 2nd round. Always a chance to see diamond dropped by sloppy burgular after a theft.

As far as that goes, if somehow I either had to keep Rui or keep Kuzma, if that was the choice, then I keep Rui. Without hesitation.

This is revisionist history. Hachimura's role on this team changed every year he was here because as an organization, we have no direction. As evinced by other people's comments, he was never given clear directions as to what his role or place on this team would be. From Dinwiddie's comments to Russ' comments about no one having a role, to him being out last year and not being able to compete for the starting spot he DID not get a fair shake here. Of course on this board, the comments were devoid of reality. But the Wizards are a perfect example of a moribund franchise. Organizational failure happens repeatedly. And it's why we don't resign any first-round draft picks. It's actually laughable that you wrote your comments.
Let me let you in on a little secret. Rui, Kuzma, Deni or Kispert it doesn't matter. The Wizards aren't going anywhere with any of them. I'm happy that Rui left and is no given a clear role that he can work towards.
