From nba site

What about picks 15-60?

The Draft selections for the remainder of the first round (No. 15-30) and the entire second round (No. 30-60), are determined by reverse order of regular season record. Each NBA team gets one selection in the first round and one selection in the second round.

The 2023 Draft order for the remainder of the first-round will be determined at the end of the regular season.

The 'positive' side of this late FRP is the salary part, as long as they draft a playable and long term - or tradable - prospect.

Would you guys do a trade of Poole for your 2023 1st round pick, straight-up?

I wouldn't be surprised if we sell the 27th pick for cash and 2-4 future seconds, citing "too much young talent" on the roster

Don't give me hope tankathon.

Looking at those odds, Portland did the right thing tanking the 2nd half of the season, I bet that's what the Mavs wanted to do.

Wouldn't shock me at all to see the Blazers, Bulls, Mavs, or Raptors win the lottery...if the Raptors win I might have to quit RealGM and NBA basketball altogether

Lol lol lol. A top 4 (likely) pick for an overpaid scorer.

If we land the number 2 pick do we take Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson?

On the plus side for Scoot I think taking him would finally force us to move Rozier. He isn't the ideal fit next to LaMelo, but he's a better fit than Rozier. He projects as a much better defender and playmaker. If it can work for the Cavaliers with Mitchell and Garland it can work for us as well. It would also give us insurance for when/if LaMelo forces a trade.

The argument for Miller is that he's an easier fit for our existing roster. He's too skinny to play much at the 4 right now, but eventually he projects as a 3/4 big wing that can play with either Miles or PJ. We'd be set at the wing position for a while. The downside is that Miller doesn't really address our biggest issues. We need a lockdown wing defender and someone that can put pressure on the basket while not being a negative spacer. Miller might be able to develop into that player, but it isn't who he is right now.

Or should someone else be in consideration at 2?

I still lean towards Scoot. I don't think the fit is nearly problematic enough to pass on the talent level and I also see it as similar to the Garland/Mitchell fit. We don't even know if LaMelo wants to stay long term, he could be injury prone, and its not even certain hes the better prospect than Scoot anyways.

Scoot's size/position doesn't matter next to LaMelo, its just if he can play good defense

They both can play off ball

I wouldn't trade our 2nd rounder for Jordan Poole
investigate Adam Silver

I've changed my mind on who I'd take between Scoot and Miller. I was on team Miller because it's hard to fail as a 6'9 elite shooter. But the more I read about Scoot's leadership qualities the more I think he'd be the better choice for this team.

It's hard to see him failing in the league, and we direly need better leadership on this team. He's also built like a tank already, he looks like a smaller Anthony Edwards. And he reportedly has a 6'9 wingspan and can palm the basketball (as you can see here):

I think he and LaMelo would be electric together.

I think if they want to fill needs in the draft they can use some of the later picks and just go for BPA with their first pick.

I'd take Scoot because he is better than Miller and he is Melo insurance if he wants to leave.

Still feel like Miller is the guy if our pick is #2, or #3, but ONLY after they’ve done three different background investigations on this kid. Can you imagine if we grabbed him, and later found running with a bad crowd, leading to a future “Miles” moment? Doom, pure doom for this club.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Seems like you are assuming something would have shown up in Miles's background check. I'm sure they run background checks on everyone they draft.
