I don't see him like Jimmer, but I guess they both share the outside shooting volume. Podz had a generally great efficiency despite the volume with a 60.2 TS%; off-the-dribble shooting at 39.5% and graded out pretty excellent on floaters/runners touch at 48%. Plus, he also had the passing skill. He also has a .313 FTR showing above average aggression getting to the line.

Personally, I think he was a defined first option which teams game planned against and he still went out and got incredible numbers. I don't have him ahead of any of the name guards, I want to see his workouts/combine, but he had a special college season. I mean we talk about Bufkin improving year 1 to 2, but Pods went from 4 mins and 1 PPG at Illy, to 36 mins and 20 PPG at Santa Clara in year 2.

I mentioned Austin Reeves who has the sneaky athleticism and just knows scoring attack angles and can shoot - maybe Podz is the next one.

I've got him in a category with Wagner and Sochan as guys who are winners.
I really hope he's there at 13.

Sidy at 13 is a little wild for me still. Then again, there's still workouts and combine but based on what I've seen of him so far, I think 13 is way too high. Unless you believe he has star potential (and I don't personally see that), I can't rationalize taking him over Jones or Bufkin.

The same can be argued regarding Sidy being scary due to the countless "not even close" shots and airball shots he hoists.

Those aren't equivalents. Shots can be developed. If you can't play north-south in college. It'll look terribly rough in the NBA. Dude has no physicality, doesn't cover ground quickly. Buyer beware.

I've seen some rather pure makes from Sidy and some impressive foot work in preparation for his shot.

Fredette and Podz aren't close, Podz is 3 inches taller, an incredible rebounder for his size, and a much better defender. They put up similar BPM in their last year against similar competition, but Podz is a full two years younger.
Podz is very well rounded

I think Josh Hart is a decent comparison to Podz, but Podz has more playmaking potential.

I think Podz tops out as a nice bench guard that can add some depth to a good team. I like him for that. But anyone taking him looking for a superstar diamond in the rough is going to be disappointment, IMO.

But that's still good value though, especially in the second round where he's currently mocked. It wouldn't surprise me if he get taken in the late first round though.

I agree I think you draft him expecting him to be a bench contributor with a small chance to become a starter.

I think 13 is too high for all these players. Kobe maybe

I'm kind of getting Kuminga vibes. Both had good size for wings, pretty bad percentages, high offensive upside, questionable defensive effort/discipline.

You have to watch an entire game with GG. He is raw, not very smooth so I can't see Tatum. Most of the offense went through him and he still was not exceptional. Leonard Miller is only one year younger and he definitely looked better than GG this year. Plus Miller showed more maturity and played in a better league. GG is a poor man's Bam that can shoot the 3 a little bit. Comparing him to Tatum is disrespect, Tatum was a much better player at the same age. Tatum is a one on one beast. GG will never be that good. Bam is still an all-star. Kuminga I can also see but Kuminga is shorter. GG I hope will be better.

To me comps are a sign of respect to the pro-player. If anything it creates crazy expections for the prospect and why some get labeled as a bust. I hope raptor mgmt draft a prospect to pair with Scottie and start the retool this summer. Dribble penetration and shooting are must have skills in todays NBA.

Wallace and Hendricks won't be available in our range. Wallace seems like a pick that has a high floor that a lot of teams won't take until > 7th. Hendricks is a floor spacing rim protector, he will be a top 5 pick when it's all said and done.

In terms of Dick and George. I don't think they are better prospects that Sidy. Sidy has the athletic advantage, size advantage, and he has better tools if we consider handles, driving , finishing, shooting, defense, and athleticism. Physically Cissoko is built like a young OG and he bullies his way into the lane. Rim protection from your guard is also unheard of and a huge premium. We would be able to completely neutralize opposing guards.

I don't believe he's a guard, or I don't believe in his guard like skills. I'll have to do more homework. Susy is definitely a project in my books but I do see the appeal.

I'll do more homework tho

Not a guard but:

Played PG 2 years ago before his growth spurt
2:1 assist to turnover ratio in the GLeague
15% AST% as the secondary guard next to Scoot
Got better every month in the GLeague

Scouting report says he lacks burst? Look at some of his dunks and lane finishes, his lateral quickness, POA defense, and pick and roll sets as the ball handler. He's going to be a problem at the next level based on mismatches alone.

If Wallace or Hendricks don't fall to us I'm leaning toward Coulibaly or George. I haven't been high on George as a top 10 pick this year due to his lack of efficiency, but in the teens he could be a steal like a Maxey or Mitchell. I still have Coulibaly ahead of him for upside, but I think in the least George's floor would be a Cam Thomas.

I could see George thriving with NBA spacing. The problem is, we don’t have NBA spacing

He has way better handles than I was remembered and a smoother shot that I remembered as well. His handles are much better than OG and possibly better than Barnes so he can play alongside them.

He's definitely a raptorsry type of pick.

Has someone found a comparison of guys with George's numbers who turned out good? He has a lot of confidence but played terribly. If he had like Dennis Smith Jr hops or something I'd swing for him but he's just average athletically. We have to really beleive the shot is elite or we're just getting a streaky chucker like Clarkson

I mean presumably he would be one of the spacers along with OG. But, we have to trade one of Barnes or Pascal. They're both natural PF who are not great shooters. If you had George, OG, and a shooter at the point that should be enough shooting in starters minutes.

He was around 12-14 when the year started is what I mean. I expect Sidy to rise in the ranks as well like Black did.

Early guess before the combine etc is we take Cason Wallace which I'm ok with because he looks like a truly elite defensive guard BUT he'd 3rd out of the list of guys I'd take...

For me the player that makes the most sense or best FITS what we NEED to me is Keyonte George.

We need a self creator/playmaker come post season (period). No one other than Pascal can do so and truth is he's still not quite elite at it. I also think regardless of Pascal's future that George would be a nice fit off of Scottie something like Joker/Murray. Because to me even at his best, I don't see Scottie becoming a "takeover" type of offensive player but more a big time faciltator that can score when needed. He's going to need a bucket getter and preferably not a guy that essentially plays the same position like Pascal but I think that could be figured out over time. But Fred MUST go because 1. I'd use Keyonte like Kyrie with Bron or Steph with Dray, as the scorer but Scottie does most of the facilitating like LBJ/Dray. See if you can flip Fred & Gary in S&T for some taller "3+D" like players and I think in time will be much more competitive. Personally I'd also flip Pascal to POR for Simons + picks than draft Ausar and just embrace the rebuild with a high upside young trio (KG, Ausar & Scottie -- if we can develop them like we did the previous "core", that could be a much more talented trio).

Having said all that, I'll be surprised if the Raps even give Keyonte serious consideration because we all have a sense of what's the "prototype" this management team loves which is defensive first players (preferably 6'7+) which Sidy Cissiko fits the bill to a tee and at this point I'm just hoping they fall in love with him like they did Dyson (and I'd argue Sidy has better offensive upside). Because I think he can be similar in his size, ability to read the court and make great passes BUT I actually like CS' scoring upside more & see a little Jalen Williams to him in his ability to understand where to be and how to react (but the pull up jumper obviously needs to improve). I don't think he's a perfect fit with Scottie BUT to me he looks like he has the potential to be the BPA long term. If the team is still so set on defensive minded always being incorporated (although I heard KG is actually solid), than I'd prefer the long term play on Sidy over the high floor of Wallace personally.
