Hes the interior defender Bam needs. If we care about Bam, we better get him some defensive help.

Heard GG doesnt have it all together upstairs.

Not drafting any big that does not stretch the floor cause the hope of Bam doing that is a pipe dream at this point.

Hes shown the ability to hit the three. He and Bam could bond by working with Herro this offseason on their shot.

The more I’ve looked at these prospects, the more I’m leaning towards just using the pick in a package for an upgrade to the roster.

The 18 range is kinda average. A guy Sensabaugh would be cool but I’d rather have a player that can help us win next year

Kris Murray should be there at 18 and would be an excellent pick. Sensabaugh also has a great chance of slipping to that spot as well.

Maxey was a 21st pick. The talent can be there at any pick. I remember Sprewell being a late first. Imagine adding Latrell to this team, lol. Nuts.

Anyways, theres more misses than hits in any draft. Find a quality package of traits and max them out.

Considering the way our cap looks we need the cheap labor. We need to keep this pick and develop the talent. If we trade picks it’s going to be well into the future. Thinking 2028 and 2030.

Keep a close eye on the other kid from Michigan Kobe Bufkin. Presents a much much better fit for us then Howard's kid. Dynamic 6'4 ball handler who's a lefty which we all know the Heat love. Can create, make shots, and is known as a savage defender. Would be a great Combo/PG of the future pick and replacement if Vincent walks or someone we groom with Vincent.

Good destinations for Bufkin

I’d be a little surprised if he falls past the Miami Heat, who are projected to pick somewhere in the late teens or early 20s. He fits the work ethic that comes with Heat culture. Miami could use another reliable guard, and I’m sure Juwan Howard has already told his buddies on that staff all about him.

With how versatile he is, Bufkin could fit in with a lot of teams. I hope he gets drafted into a situation that’s good for his development because if that happens, he could be in for a long, successful NBA career.

Bufkin looks like a cross between Mike Conley and D'Lo Russell. I'm a fan

I was talking about this specific draft, not the 18 range in past drafts

With so much talent in this draft it would be criminal to trade the pick. Would trade Jovic instead with the 2028 and 2030.

I’m keeping the faith with Jovic, MWP. I just hope we run him as a 4, rather than backup 5. His skillset should fit nicely alongside Edrice.

Wouldn’t shock me if he had a great offseason and got himself in a position to contribute meaningfully next year.

Interesting name to consider: Dariq Whitehead

6'7 220 pound wing. Was the #2 ranked recruit in the nation coming out. Had a subpar freshman year at Duke coming off the bench (only ~8 ppg). BUT, he shot ~43% from 3.

He had to have foot surgery before the season started then had a leg strain early in the season that caused him to miss more time. That's a lot of obstacles for a freshman to overcome. He was lauded for his explosiveness and athleticism as a HS prospect and clearly looked less than 100% in his college tape. Could he be a 3 & D wing with scoring upside available at discount due to untimely injury?

Yep. Is def under the radar in most mocks. He could be that BOOM pick.

Gabe, Strus and maybe Oladipo go we'll probably draft a combo guard this year. Next year will be Martin, Jovic and Cain rotation for 4

So I digged deeper on Hawkins. Shown to be a very fundamental sound player. His father was a former pro and his sisters were well known hoppers. He didn't shoot a high percentage last season but he is known as a shooter and his father raised him to be a shooter.

As shown in this clip he has very good passing skills. Average 3 assist per. Gabe Vincent averages 2.5 ast lol. Was used in Illinois system as a stretch big and as a post passer to their center. Something the Heat been trying to utilize from their powerforward to complement Bam.

Groomed to play the style that complements Bam as a glue-guy and body guard that Bam needs. Likely would need a year of seasoning to tighten up his game and role in the NBA and Spo system. But could also see him contributing year one depending on how he shows in a summer league.

Kris Murray or Kobe Bufkin for me as of today. One of them should be there at 18.

The more I see Jett Howard the more I don't feel like he is a 1st round pick quality player. Unless there is more to his game the that NBA teams know of.
